Experience High-octane Tone and Supreme Playability

The Ibanez Prestige RG652AHMFX was created to be a supremely playable, superb-sounding solidbody electric guitar. This guitar's distinctive ash RG body exhibits a strong treble response, and you'll appreciate the fast-playing feel of its 5-piece maple/walnut Super Wizard HP neck. If you like to push your amp for crunchy rhythms and hot leads, the RG652AHMFX will be happy to comply, thanks to DiMarzio Tone Zone and Air Norton humbuckers. The Prestige RG652AHMFX includes a rock-solid Gibraltar Standard III bridge and Gotoh MG-T locking machine heads, plus a Graph Tech Black TUSQ XL nut to safeguard against string binding. Head-turning Cosmo black hardware completes the impressive package.

Super Wizard HP neck plays fast and smooth

The RG652AHMFX's super-fast Super Wizard HP neck will let you execute lightning-fast runs, arpeggios, and hammer-ons with silken ease while still providing enough substance for comfortable chording. The feel of this neck is greatly enhanced by the Prestige fret-edge treatment, an extra step Ibanez takes to ensure maximum playing comfort and long-term playability. The process essentially rounds the fret ends much more precisely than is possible by hand filing. The RG652AHMFX will feel like its neck has been lovingly played for years, right out of the factory case.

Dual DiMarzio pickups cover an expansive sonic range

There's no denying the massive range of tones you can get out of the Ibanez Prestige RG652AHMFX's combo of DiMarzio pickups. The DiMarzio Tone Zone at the bridge is a hot humbucker with a super-wide dynamic range. It's a perfect complement to the RG652AHMFX's DiMarzio Air Norton at the neck, which is deep, warm, and remarkably clean. The guitarists here at Sweetwater love this ultra-flexible pickup combination, and you will, too.

RG playability with fixed-bridge stability

While you may expect to see a whammy bar on an Ibanez RG, the RG652AHMFX sports a Gibraltar Standard III fixed bridge — a dream come true if you prefer a hardtail axe. You'll appreciate the Gibraltar Standard III's extremely low profile, which offers the comfort of a traditional RG floating trem with the exceptional stability and reliability you can only get from a fixed bridge. If you've always wanted an RG guitar but prefer not to mess with a floating bridge, the RG652AHMFX was made just for you.

Ibanez Prestige RG652AHMFX Features:

  • Distinctive ash RG body
  • Lightning-fast Super Wizard HP Prestige neck
  • 24 jumbo frets with an ultra-smooth feel thanks to the Prestige fret-edge treatment
  • DiMarzio Air Norton and Tone Zone pickups serve up a wide range of tone
  • Gibraltar Standard III bridge for spot-on intonation and maximum tuning stability
  • Rock-solid Gotoh MG-T locking machine heads
  • Graph Tech Black TUSQ XL nut safeguards against string binding
  • Head-turning Cosmo black hardware

Reviews

This is a an amazing guitar
This is one that's very difficult to put down. QC so far has been flawless and the Dimarzio pickups sound amazing through a mesa mini rectifier. Building great lead tones is easy with pickups this dynamic and hot. I do wish the purple finish was a bit brighter on my guitar but that's easily forgettable once you pick up the guitar because before you know it, youve been playing it for the past two hours with how hard it is to put down. The only true con for me on this guitar is I wish it had stainless steel frets. The fretwork is still flawless. Definitely would recommend as a first guitar for someone with a higher budget…. and would recommend this as a workhorse for the seasoned vet. This is the real deal.
Really a fantastic guitar! A true joy to play and listen to.
I had been looking for a good hardtail "shredder" type guitar for a while, and this definitely fits the bill, but it's also so much more! The Tone Zone and Air Norton pickup combination is classic, very versatile, and the pickup switching options with the parallel neck pickup really add to the versatility. It may have a "thin" neck, but with the jumbo frets it works well and is very comfortable. Swamp ash is a nice tonewood, and not super soft like basswood, often favored for these types of guitars. The binding really makes it look classy, and it's just a great guitar.

Mine showed up set up perfectly and ready to rock! This is a fantastic guitar, regardless of it not being as "fancy" as the more expensive options in the prestige line. The finishes are also fantastic looking.

Great sound and neck
It's my first Ibanez. I love the royal plum, and the flat, wide neck. It's my first maple neck. The pickups sound great. Very clean.
The standard many other brands should strive for.
The thing with this guitar that trumps much else out there versus the competition is price.

An MIJ guitar with a lot of handwork done on the fretboard, great sounding humbuckers with some fancy electronics to make it into a 5-way switch, and a case?

If you are looking for maximum playability but still want a guitar that retains a headstock, this is one of the best options available. Ibanez is killing it!
Music background: Musician of 12 Years
A pleasure to play it
Im a guitar fan, I always loved the Ibanez guitars and this is the first prestige I own (and play),
the neck is fast and confortable, its the most beautiful guitar I ever seen, also all people who saw it falls in love (even the luthier), also made a quick demo/impro just to post it here.
Music background: Bedroom guitar player
