Reviews

QX602MP3
Wow. over 6 mo. now since purchase. Using this as a component in a home stereo system. Absolutely love the reverb. My music of choice is Blues. Today I tried the MP3 for the first time. Had to refer back to the owners manual to operate. Play-back worked flawlessly. BUT, one biggie of a buzz-kill. When ya turn off the unit, and turn back on, the MP3 starts at track #1 every time. Unlike in my auto, or the rack-mount player I have. Seems it doesn't have a built-in memory as to last track played.
Music background: educated in the music business, without being IN the music business.
Exactly right for my expansion of capability.
I was using an older Behringer 802, with wired speakers, an outboard DAC, and a laptop using Mixxx. I've hung an outboard wireless adapter (with a really good DAC) on this 602, and am just using a thumb drive instead of the laptop. The similar panel of the old 802 and the new 602 made the transition easy, the decrease in wires of all kinds makes my setup time much less, and the sound of the 602 is much better. The entire act, a small one to be sure, now travels easily in one expandable wagon, and in use lets me easily handle multi-room setups that I had to fight with before. I'm ancient, and this Xenyx has probably extended my working life for years. Huzzah, sez I! I have to thank Sweetwater's people for their great advice, too.
Music background: Long, varied, and weird.
Best mixer for submitting backing tracks and click
I got this mixer recently because my drum teacher highly recommended I get since I am now playing to backing tracks and a click live. I was originally plugging my in ears to the roland spd sx pro. I realized I wasn't get the volume I needed so I got this and did it make a difference. My band notice how much clear the backing tracks were and I was able to hear the click when everyone else is playing at loud volumes.
Best Compact Mixers I've Had
I've had a couple of other mixers like this to submix into my Bose L1 pro 8 but, I sold them mainly because they just didn't live up to my expectations.
This one gives me everything I want plus some really nice features the others didn't. 6 complete inputs full eq on each and, delay/reverb for each, very easy to navigate and get results quickly. USB Mp3 feature is a nice touch and the 1/8" input is also a handy feature for any source to input.
This works perfectly to increase inputs for most any musical source. I run my harmonica into one channel, my fiddle into another and, the other 4 for any other needs. Sound quality is excellent, very quiet even if pushed a little. Love the ac plugin no wall wart. Compact easy to transport and setup. 48v phantom power is nice to have for a condenser mic if needed.
For the money spent and all the Great features this little jewel is just plain hard to beat. I would highly recommend this mixer to anybody. Very Satisfied Behringer user.

Guitar Combo Pre-amp
I had converted an Infinity P-S-8 subwoofer into a power amp by replacing the displacer with a Celestion G-10 Gold speaker and bypassing the lowpass filters on the input. I needed a way to attenuate the input for a guitar and microphone and I bought the Behringer Xenyx QX602MP3 for this purpose. I specifically bought this mixer because it has a built in power supply so there is no external power brick to lose or stumble over. It is very compact and elegant in appearance. I have my electric guitar set up for a mellow jazzy tone and I use a Zoom MS-50G pedal for effects. It sounds really clean and articulate through the line inputs, much cleaner than my other guitar amps. I tried running the effects straight into the line in jack as well as through the send/return and they both work fine. The mic inputs have good gain with no distortion or noise and sounds great as long as it is not me singing through it. The reverb is very useful and sounds good and is very adjustable to suit my every need. I have not yet used the Mp3 player so cannot comment on this. The high EQ knobs seem to have little effect on the guitar but that's okay because I can make that adjustment with the effects pedal. The action of the control knobs are nice and predictable and there is actually a good amount of range on each control. I am really surprised at the performance of this mixer for the price that I paid. This product is a great value and now I have a powerful versatile guitar combo amp that sounds really good for a small cost. I waited a long time before this product was available for sale to the public and I am glad that I did wait and did not purchase something else. I would definitely purchase another one of these and would highly recommend this to all of my friends.
