Push Your Creativity to the Limit

Ripe with creative possibilities, Ableton Push 3 is an inspiring control surface that enables you to create and edit melodies, harmonies, beats, samples, and even entire songs. Push 3's 64 backlit, MPE-enabled pads provide you with the utmost expressive tactile control, while locked-tight integration with Ableton Live software gives you complete access to a creative arsenal of instruments, devices, and effects. Not only does Push 3 function as a controller, but its built-in audio/MIDI interface lets you deploy it as a hub for your entire rig. With this hardware at the center of your creative workflow, you can connect external instruments, synths, or effects and record directly into Ableton Live; you can also use Push 3 as a springboard for real-time playing, step sequencing, and clip launching. Thanks to Push 3, creative musicians can stay focused on song creation rather than on their computer screen.

Note: This version of Push 3 isn't a standalone instrument. It doesn't include a built-processor and must be connected to a computer with a USB 2.0 cable to work with Ableton Live software. The standalone version of Push 3 is available here.

64 expressive, MPE-enabled pads

Creating and composing with a keyboard and mouse is fine. That said, there's something infinitely more inspiring about the tactile sensation of hardware. Each of Ableton Push 3's 64 backlit, MPE-enabled pads boasts an X/Y sensor that detects every slight movement of your finger, enabling you to shape your sounds in myriad ways. Here at Sweetwater, we've found Push 3's pads to be eminently expressive — you can bend, slide, and shift between notes, sounds, and articulations with the greatest of ease.

Built-in audio/MIDI interface

Push 3 houses a built-in 2-in/2-out audio interface that accommodates both balanced line-level and unbalanced instrument-level input sources, enabling you to route instruments, synths, or effects straight into Ableton Live. You also get two balanced outputs and a headphone jack for dead-simple monitoring. Push 3 also supports class-compliant USB MIDI, so you can connect a standard MIDI keyboard or other controller to get hands-on with Push 3's internal instruments or send MIDI data from Push 3 to your other hardware.

Ableton Push 3 Features:

  • Hardware control surface for Ableton Live
  • Enables you to create and edit melodies, harmonies, beats, samples, and even entire songs
  • Allows for real-time playing, step sequencing, and clip launching
  • 64 backlit, MPE-enabled pads provide you with the utmost in expressive tactile control

It's really worth it for those who use Abeton Live professionally !
Since having it, I listen to my music more while working, and no longer look at the screen too much. The trackpad is truly great. There's a reason why I didn't have this sooner :)) !
Amazing
The title says it all. This thing is amazing. Ableton is always updating it too. This is the Iron Man of groove boxes and controllers.
Absolute game changer for Ableton users
This thing is just fantastic. Not only does it make it creating in Ableton extremely easy, it's awesome for live settings too. Obviously because it's made by Ableton it integrates with Ableton seamlessly so if you're an avid Ableton user this will just make your experience that much better because it makes everything, from engaging effects to synthesis creation to engaging clips, so much easier to do. I feel like it's made my projects so much better because it makes it so simple to experiment with all of it's features, so now I can add it to my music. If you get one that doesn't seem to turn initially don't freak out, it just needs to be reset so it can be updated. Hold down the power button instead of just clicking it until the Save light turns on, then let go of the power button and do a short top on it again and it'll start the firmware update process. Anyways, highly recommend!
Push2 User for 6 + years
I've enjoyed the push workflow. I've tried many styles of sequencers and drum machines and nothing quite compares to working on the Push.
For this review I only want to focus on talking about things that others have not.

Why I feel that upgrading to the 3 is worth it:
This piece of gear just feels better on your finger tips while just physically interacting with it. It's crispy feeling. Not just because its new. But the way it was designed. Also the button layout is more useable.
It is snappier. This being a controller only version, my CPU did not change. The controller did. There is no doubt that the Push 3 screen menu has less lag than the 2nd version.
MPE on Push3. Ok sure some people talk about this. But not enough. This might just be the best MPE controller on the market. Just put it in a scale mode and it is very easy to make some very interesting chord play that sounds amazing.
So even though the form factor and over all design are very similar between the 2nd version and the 3rd. These upgrades are worth it. If you are a Ableton Push user and are on the fence, just buy it.
