Purpose-built driver design
The heart of the Prime Elevation is its thoughtful, direct-radiating 2-way driver design. First, a 4.5-inch midrange driver with a polypropylene cone, an aluminum shorting ring, a cast ABS-fiberglass composite basket, and a vented voice coil former ensures excellent driver behavior, low distortion, optimal thermal transfer, and minimal air compression artifacts. Up top, the 1-inch aluminum dome tweeter with FEA-optimized diffuser provides crystal-clear high-frequency detail. Finally, SVS’s proprietary SoundMatch 2-way crossover ties the system together with its precisely tuned 2.5kHz crossover point, 12dB/octave slopes, and premium-grade capacitors, air-core inductors, and heavy-trace printed circuit boards (PCBs).
Calculated cabinetry
Every component of the Prime Elevation serves a performance-driven purpose, and perhaps nowhere is this more apparent than in its cabinet. The Prime Elevation’s angled baffle and unique Multi-Angle Wall Bracket enable you to use the Elevation in down-, up-, or side-firing orientations, depending on the needs of your space. Furthermore, the front baffle is chamfered with flush-mounted drivers that minimize edge diffraction and enhance off-axis high-frequency response. The FEA-optimized cabinet also sports extra-thick MDF bracing that attenuates unwanted resonances. Finally, its gold-plated 5-way binding posts both resist oxidation and enable a variety of connections, including bare wire, banana plugs, and more.
