The Best

I have 5 sets of these (both the 3x3 and 6 inline) on all my guitars. A friend suggested these years ago and they are all I use and a must add to any new guitar. These are the best locking tuners on the market in my opinion. The quickness of a string change is unmatched thanks to the auto trim and locking mechanisms.

Great Tuners!

This is the second set of these I've bought to replace the stock tuners and I love them. Rock-solid, easy to use, and the 18:1 ratio makes tuning easier and more precise. The best!

This is my second set of these, and I love them. I've now used them as replacements on both my Vintrage-style '86-'87 MIJ Strat and my new Line 6 JTV-89F. Perfect hole alignment and diameter on both axes. The locks lock securely, and the trimmers trim well. Re-stringing can't get much easier than this.A caution to those who favor very heavy strings, however: don't expect the cutters to readily handle a .54 low E... They're not bolt cutters, after all.

Planet Wave Auto-trim Tuners

I love these things! I have the chrome six-in-line version. I only wish the posts were chrome, too, but that's a quibble. These work as advertised and are STUPID EASY to use. Just put string in, tighten lock, start tuning and the string cuts, and a couple turns later, you're in tune. No need for a string winder OR cutter. Super clean, fast, easy string changes. Once you use them, you'll wonder why nobody else ever thought of this.

Didn't work as well as I expected

I really liked the idea when I read about them. But didn't really work as well as I had hoped. Fro the bigger string I could not get it to cut the strings without putting some pliers on it. And I do not use heavy strings. On my first string the locking mechanism didn't hold on, the string slipped out and was too short to get back in. So IDE cided on the smaller strings to not pull it tight before locking it in place. So I had a couple of wraps around the post in case it happened again. Not sure if the string really slipped out or the locking mechanism cut it. Bottom line, if you buy them be ready to get some pliers out to get them tight enough to cut your bigger stringsan d don;t pull your string tight before locking/cutting. Leave enough slack to get a couple of wraps around the post.
