A New Standard of T-style Tonal Triumph

Schecter’s PT model bridges the gap between classic T-style twang and modern metal malice, making it a favorite among Sweetwater’s genre-hopping guitarists. The Schecter PT Standard brings the company’s penchant for high-octane audiovisual aesthetics to all, sparing no effort to meld sonorous tonewoods, versatile playability, and potent Schecter-designed pickups into a single, powerful axe. Crafted from a quartet of burl, mahogany, maple, and rosewood, the Schecter PT Standard makes good on the company’s longstanding practice of deploying premium materials for every axe, regardless of price. Pair this with its high-speed neck, 22-fret spread, and eye-catching finish, and you’ve got a fully-fledged powerhouse brimming with onboard sonic contouring potential.

Premium foundations for all

Schecter’s Standard series models expand the scope of accessibility to their lauded designs, doing so without compromising the dedication to quality that defines them. The PT Standard is no exception, with its cornerstone comprising a burl-topped mahogany body, providing a rich, harmonically deep foundation that’s well balanced, with headroom to spare. The roasted maple neck augments the aural properties of the guitar’s top, imbuing your sound with full-spectrum brightness and excellent note separation, allowing chords, riffs, leads, and licks to shine through with plenty of definition. A rosewood fingerboard completes the PT Standard’s tonewood quartet, enshrining your sound in a crystalline veneer that adds presence to every register without sacrificing articulation.

House-made pickups for tailored sonic contouring

In keeping the sonic complexity of the PT Standard’s tonewood assemblage in mind, Schecter spared no effort in supplying this axe with the tools needed to bring its foundational tones to life in electrifying voicing. The bridge- and neck-mounted positions each feature their respective iteration of Schecter’s Diamond Standard passive humbuckers, supporting a range of sonorous cleans and smoldering riffs to high-octane distortions and scorching solos. A 3-way pickup selector is joined by Master Volume and Tone control knobs, but don’t let this straightforward arrangement fool you: the PT Standard is rife with tone-crafting possibilities, ensuring virtually any style is primed for premium performance.

Engineered for versatile, powerful performances

With versatility in spades, the PT Standard is outfitted to accommodate multitudes of playstyles. Twenty-four frets sprawl its 25.5-inch scale, while the fretboard’s 14-inch radius, alongside the Thin “C”-shaped neck, are complemented by the iconic curvature of the T-style silhouette. Combining all this with its sculpted heel and treble-side cutaway provides uninhibited access to its wealth of latent sonic-sculpting possibilities. Speaking of accessibility, if you’re curious as to why the PT Standard features explicitly a roasted maple neck, then we’ve got you covered. Unlike conventional maple, roasting maple increases the wood’s dimensional stability. Doing this not only enhances the sonic relationships between itself and the other tonewoods, but significantly reduces the risk of twisting or warping. It all adds up to the PT Standard being the ideal road warrior with robust resilience to changing environments.

Schecter PT Standard Features:

  • Standard series guitars deliver uncompromising Schecter quality at an all-inclusive cost
  • The burl-topped mahogany body provides a harmonically rich foundation of bright, balanced sonics
  • Roasted maple neck imbues tones with full-spectrum warmth and note separation for precise voicing with every play style
  • Rosewood fingerboard provides a crystalline veneer for presence-filled tones and sonic panache that doesn’t sacrifice definition
  • House-built Schecter Diamond Standard humbuckers deliver a powerful, versatile suite of tone-crafting opportunities
  • Thin “C” neck profile and 14-in. fretboard radius maximize comfort and speed to support virtually any playstyle
  • Hallmark contouring and sculpted bolt-on heel ensure uncompromising access to the 22-fret array that sprawls its 25.5-in. scale
  • Use of roasted maple maximizes dimensional stability for increased resilience to twisting and warping under varying climates and environments
  • Graphite nut and Schecter Diamond bridge mean reliable buzz-free tones

Reviews

Great Guitar
I love Tele style bodies without a pick guard and this one is Beautiful. Excellent finish on whole instrument. Set up is perfect right out of the box and that has never happened in my 35 years of playing. I know people say it all the time but I've played way more expensive guitars and I can't believe they can make a guitar this good for that price. Well done. My only comment to Schecter would be to drop in a stack pot coil tap or switch to make it more versatile. Thanks Schecter and Sweetwater!
