Classic SD Looks with Seymour Duncan Electronics

Boasting the stability of a bolt-on maple neck, a dutifully designed Floyd Rose 1000 series locking tremolo, and potent Seymour Duncan sonics hidden underneath, discerning guitarists know the Pro-Mod San Dimas SD1 electric guitar means nothing less than approachable shredding power. An alder body and maple neck exude durability and long-term performance; all the while, a collection of deluxe Charvel appointments and die-cast tuning machines ensure pure intonation support while maintaining a sleek visual appearance on any stage. Looking for tone? The Pro-Mod San Dimas SD1 has got plenty, given a Seymour Duncan humbucker duo and a seamlessly operated set of tonal controls. Take it from Sweetwater's technically adept guitarists: When it comes to shred-friendly instrumentation, the Pro-Mod San Dimas SD1 electric guitar reigns as one of the best.

Outstanding alder body design

Lightweight, resonant, and full of tonal life, it's no wonder why alder is such a popular tonewood among Charvel's 6-string portfolio. Utilized for the Pro-Mod San Dimas SD1's body, this means less weight on your shoulders as well as supplemental tone for utmost resonance and richness during play. Additionally, a closer look at the Pro-Mod San Dimas SD1's body reveals a Floyd Rose 1000 series locking tremolo system that, when utilized in conjunction with a Graph Tech TUSQ XL nut, ensures utmost intonation stability while making light work of wavy bends, dive bombs, and anywhere in between. Finished and appointed with an amalgamation of high-performance hardware, Sweetwater guitarists know that Charvel meant business when designing the Pro-Mod San Dimas SD1.

Durable materials supply unparalleled mobility

High-profile shredding sessions start with a maneuverable instrument — rest assured, the Pro-Mod San Dimas SD1 is more than equipped to handle even the most rigorous transitions with ease. It starts with a smooth maple neck that's equipped with a hand-rubbed satin urethane finish and a comfortable playing profile, ensuring swift and manageable access along every fret. Likewise, a 12- to 16-inch compound radius maple fingerboard reveals dot-style inlays to keep your movements accurate and decisive. Complete with a sleek gloss body finish and a simple yet in-depth collection of onboard tonal controls, finding your way around the Pro-Mod San Dimas SD1 will become second nature within minutes.

High-octane Seymour Duncan pickup duo

Sporting sonics from vintage-inspired snaps and cleans to entirely hot-rodded humbucker power, the Pro-Mod San Dimas SD1's onboard Seymour Duncan pickup duo supplies more than enough tonal diversity to manage a range of genres and play styles. Set in the neck position, a '59 SH-1N pulls from late-'50s distorted tones, pairing with the bridge's JB TB-4 to add potency and power to any sonic signature — all while maintaining a formidable pickup combo that is capable of cleaning up nicely via onboard push-pull volume pot controls, a no-load tone knob, and a pickup selection switch. From R&B to heavy metal chugging and beyond, the Seymour Duncan pickup duo is the right pair for the job.

  • High-mobility 6-string electric guitar with potent Seymour Duncan sonics
  • Lightweight alder body promotes stable play while leaving less weight on your shoulders

What is Certified Open Box Gear?

At Sweetwater, we're so picky that what we call "Certified Open Box" is actually better than what most music retailers sell as "new" gear! Our gear hasn't endured hundreds of people a week plunking away at all the keyboards, fumbling through Stairway to Heaven on every guitar or playing with every fader and knob on a mixer or control surface.

Certified Open Box (also known as a demo) means we’ve had it out of the box for our YouTube channel, displayed at events, tested in our studio, or maybe it was in a customer’s hands for a few days and isn’t ‘factory fresh’ as a result. Every Certified Open Box item we sell has Sweetwater’s 2-year Total Confidence Coverage™ warranty and has been tested and verified up to ‘new’ specs by our factory-authorized technicians to make sure it’s in perfect working order before we ship it to you.

Note: While Certified Open Box items from Charvel do not include the Fender Musical Instruments Corporation warranty, you can shop with confidence knowing that this item is backed and covered by Sweetwater’s 2-year Total Confidence Coverage™ warranty.

When you buy a Certified Open Box item at Sweetwater, you get:
  • 2-year Total Confidence Coverage Warranty™!
  • Products inspected and tested by our factory-authorized techs, guaranteed to function like new (or better)!
  • FREE shipping on most items

Reviews

Very Nice!
If you're thinking about trying Charvel, start with this one. The neck is one of the fastest you will ever play on and the rounded edges enhance several playing techniques. The frets and fret bars are very well finished and all of the hardware has been meticulously installed. Every transition is butter-smooth. This instrument performs flawlessly and sounds incredible. Thank you for shipping it with the bridge slightly at rest as it took almost no effort to set up and tune. This is a ridiculous amount of guitar for the money! My only complaint is the "unfinished look" it takes on without the pickup guards - maybe consider a smaller frame around them but don't go without - just my preference...it is an instrument, after all. Quick note: Sweetwater uses very good lighting for their photos so the color finish is slightly darker in hand. The Pelham is close to an Emerald in person - absolutely beautiful! I really appreciate having it packed in the new case before shipping. I would go so far as to say it is one of the most considerate services you offer. I may think about another one of these...
