This Modern Metal Machine Delivers!

The Charvel Pro-Mod DK24 HH HT is the latest proof of the legendary guitar company’s commitment to bring modern metal players the finest in design, appointments, and playability. This streamlined solidbody features an alder body cut to an offset design that feels comfortable in your hands and against your waist. A bolt-on maple neck with graphite reinforcement has been cut to the legendary Charvel Speed profile with rolled fingerboard edges — a favorite neck among guitarists here at Sweetwater. The Pro-Mod DK24 also comes with a pair of Seymour Duncan humbuckers that deliver all the serious, aggressive tone you desire. Finally, a Charvel HT6 string-through-body hardtail bridge maximizes sustain and provides stellar tuning stability during even the most aggressive play.

Diverse Seymour Duncan pickup set

The pair of Seymour Duncans in the Pro-Mod DK24 affords a tonal potential that will have you exploring diverse sonic landscapes for hours. For drive, the Full Shred SH-10 bridge humbucker packs a big, focused low end and about as much sustain as you can get from a passive alnico pickup. And when you need to clean up, the Alnico II Pro APH-1N neck humbucker is a breath of fresh air. This pickup boasts great touch dynamics and a sweet, bluesy top end that’s perfect for true cleans and those just-on-the-edge-of-breaking-up tones that add grit to your sound. In addition, 5-way switching gives you access to a myriad of irresistible sonic textures.

Fast, stable, comfortable reinforced maple neck

The Pro-Mod DK24’s maple neck and ebony fingerboard are spec’d to meet the demands of the technical player. The Charvel Speed Neck is graphite reinforced for a lifetime of rock-solid dependability. A heel-mounted spoke wheel facilitates speedy truss rod adjustments, while four heavy-duty bolts provide superior sound transmission from the neck to the body. The compound-radius fingerboard flattens out to an arrow-straight 16 inches in the upper registers, and it comes fitted with 24 jumbo frets for maximum speed and control.

Charvel Pro-Mod DK24 HH Features:

  • Iconic alder Dinky body shape provides unlimited fret access
  • Maple Speed neck is fast and stable
  • Heel-mounted spoke wheel facilitates speedy truss rod adjustments
  • 12–16-inch compound-radius fingerboard is built for speed and comfort

Best Guitar I've Ever Owned

This thing is made for metal. Frets are perfect, excellent sustain with the hardtail bridge, the most fast and comfortable neck and fretboard I've ever played. The Seymour Duncan Full-Shred bridge pickup is really tight and great for fast metal rythm guitar with a percussive and tight bottom-end on palm-mutes. Only thing I wish this guitar had was a higher-output neck pickup; the stock pickup is more suited to blues than for rock or metal.

Charvel DK24 HH HT

I called my Sweetwater sales guru Loui and told him I was looking for a "strat-ish" guitar without the tremolo. Loui told me Fender doesn't offer the strat in a hard tail bridge but suggested I look at the Charvel line. Loui has always steered me right. Charvel makes several "strat-ish" or "super strat" guitars. After a bit of research I decided to buy the DK24 with two humbuckers(HH) with a Charvel hard tail (HT) bridge. The price was right so I figured why not. What a fantastic guitar. I've never had a guitar with locking tuners but I love them. They make string changes super easy and without all the wraps and tag ends sticking out they give a very clean look. The hard tail bridge is just what I was looking for. It makes setup and intonation easy to accomplish, it stays tuned perfectly and you can rest your hand on it without activating the trem. Charvel calls this their speed neck. It's very thin and feels great. The neck radius goes from 12 inches at the nut to a very flat 16 inches at the top end. Does that make a difference? You bet it does. Notes at the upper end of the fretboard are easy with smooth bends. The 24 in the model name indicates 24 frets. Do you need 24 frets? Surprisingly enough I find myself wandering up there because, well, I can. The body is alder so it's pretty light weight compared to my Les Pauls or even my Strats. Deep double cut aways give easy access to the upper frets. The Seymour Duncan humbuckers are pretty hot. Lots of high end and very crisp even at full volume. The tone pot is interesting. It's like any other pot but at full bright it takes the pot out of the circuit completely. It's bright, really bright. So all that being said, I have a rack of strats, tele's, Les Pauls, Gretsch's, Taylor's, and a few other "also ran" guitars. After a month or so of owning this guitar I find it's the one I pick up to play most often. It's an off the shelf guitar with a lot of really nice high end upgrades for a really reasonable price. What's not to like? Thanks Loui, I love this guitar.

Blown away

Just received this guitar and was very impressed with how good it looks very clean no frills. Satin finish is nice. The most impressive aspect is defenitely the neck...comfortable profile fretboard striking black frets are jumbo polished fret ends and rolled fingerboard makes this the best neck ive ever played. I will say for an alder body this guitar is heavy...id say close to 9 lbs.
The sounds plugged into my mesa boogie mark V were defenitely geared for metal but was able to get good rock tones out of the seymour duncan full shred bridge pickup...the neck is a seymour duncan alnico 5 has a very creamy lead tones...the cleans on both are decent. All in all its a supreme rock machine.

My go to guitar around the house

It's not a boutique guitar, but I got mine plek'd and setup at Sweetwater before they shipped it to me, which saves me the hassle of dealing with the local luthier. The plek and setup is worth the extra change and this guitar is my go-to around the house, super light and comfortable for the couch. In addition, Ed Nystrom is a great rep.. Thanks Ed!
