Travel-sized Cajon with Onboard Electronics

For traveling and performing, it’s hard to beat the value of the Meinl Pickup Jam Cajon. This travel-sized cajon is made from birch plies for a rich and resonant tone that your fellow cajonists will envy. A cause for further envy is the built-in pickup that lets you take your cajon onstage with you. That’s right: just plug in a quarter-inch cable, adjust your volume level, and you’re ready to perform on stages big and small. Fixed snares give you an immediate, snappy attack and rounded corners provide extra comfort for long sessions. If you need a small cajon that’s portable and practical, Sweetwater suggests the Meinl Pickup Jam Cajon.

Reviews

Great cajon, pickup isn't AMAZING, but with some adjustments could be great.
Great cajon! I used to have a full size snarecraft meinl cajon, but sold it. Ever since then, I've been regretting that. So I'd figure I get this one, because it's somewhat smaller and had a piezo pickup which would be easier for recording. Let me tell you, it is as loud as my full size one I used to have. Maybe a LITTLE less bassy then a full size, but still enough UMF to hear things shake and annoy people if necessary. Now... the pickup is nothing amazing, but with some EQ, compression, and maybe a touch of reverb it can be better. Not outright horrible, not absolutely amazing, but somewhere in the middle. Now I don't wanna discourage anyone from getting this because of the size or the pickup. I'm about 6 foot, and it's a comfortable height to me. And the pickup isn't (again,) great, but it is -with a little patience,- workable.
Music background: 2-3 guitarist, but I love to explore other instruments.
