Value-packed ’70s P Bass

The Squier Classic Vibe Precision Bass ’70s gives you a powerful ’70s-style instrument that nails the instrument’s look and feel from that musically fertile era. The maple neck with "C" profile delivers the classic P Bass feel, and the inclusion of a real bone nut enhances your tone while enhancing tuning stability. A Fender-designed split-coil pickup serves up classic, muscular Precision Bass tone, setting a rock-solid sonic foundation with plenty of low-end power and punchy mids. With all its vintage goodness and modern touches, the Squier Classic Vibe P Bass ’70s is one of the hottest bass values at Sweetwater. We're sure you’ll agree.

Lightweight nato body and no-nonsense design

Bass guitars are big and that can mean heavy, too. The Squier Classic Vibe Precision Bass ’70s is built around a nato body, which is resonant but relatively light, which you’ll really appreciate after two or three hours onstage. When you take the stage with this axe, you’ll appreciate the cool factor of this instrument’s iconic look.

Fender-designed split-coil pickup delivers classic P Bass punch

Why on earth would you change something as perfect as the split single-coil P Bass pickup? You wouldn’t, of course. So Squier stuck with a winner that delivers classic P Bass punch and quiet operation, both onstage and in the studio. A master volume and master tone control lets you shape your bass tone to perfection.

Modern C-shape maple neck for speed and comfort

Leo Fender wasn’t a guitar player, so he didn’t really know that guitars weren’t "supposed" to have maple necks. Eventually, the blond maple neck and fretboard became a Fender trademark. The Classic Vibe P Bass ’70s has a nicely balanced maple neck with a "C" profile that makes it really easy to get around on.

Squier Classic Vibe Precision Bass ’70s 4-string Bass Features:

  • Iconic P Bass looks and tone
  • Maple C-shape neck offers a stout feel without being cumbersome
  • Real bone nut enhances tone and tuning stability
  • Fender-designed single split-coil Precision Bass pickup delivers powerful lows and punchy mids
  • Volume and Tone controls for fine-tuning your sound

Great Bass
Love the feel of the neck on this bass. Learned on one of these in junior high and now it's my main bass to play, lighter than my jazz bass and just all around the best bass I've played.
Custom shop Squier!
Bought mine 5/2020. Perfect first bass. Got a player and still this was my first. After 2 years I installed fenders pure vintage 63s and the Emerson kit offered by Sweetwater. Total game changer. Love it even more.
Wow!
This bass holds it's own. Can't beat it for the money. Clocked in at the advertised weight. And it ain't bad lookin'.
Music background: Dive Bar Guitarist since 1980.
WOW!
Received my new Squier Classic Vibe 70's bass, and - Wow! I've had many basses since I started in 1964 (Even had Geddy Lee), and none (yes - none) of them competed with this one. Arrived in perfect condition and setup. Can't find a single flaw! Intonation and action are perfect! Delivery is amazing: 1-3 days! Kudos to my rep - Gage Massey: he's gone above and beyond for me, and that's why I say Sweetwater is far and away ahead of any of the competition.
Music background: Gigging musician since 1960
That neck...update!
Original review January 22, 2022. Here's the update:

SO bought one of these and had some high frets. Went through a couple and they were all the same, high frets in the upper register of the neck. Took it back to the shop...I had the bass put on a PLEK machine (courtesy of Fender) and WOW! This Squier plays like a $1000+ Fender. I just can't say how comfortable and easy it is to play now, absolutely amazing! I would upgrade the pups, they sound OK but could be better. Maybe upgrade to CTS pots and a better output jack and that would be IT. The bridge seems fine for now. If you buy one of these and it has high frets, get it pleked! Its worth it and it is way more cost effective than spending over a grand on a nice bass.
