Vintage T-style Soul Meets Modern Swagger

Pete Anderson has been a force in country music for decades, lighting up the stage and studio as a guitarist, producer, and musical director for Dwight Yoakam, Tanya Tucker, Michelle Shocked, and many more. Known for his inspired T-style twang, Pete was tapped by Reverend to spec out a modern take on the country and rock ’n’ roll plank. Meet the Reverend Pete Anderson Eastsider T! At first blush, it’s a classic T-style guitar, but dig a little deeper and you’ll be surprised by what you find. A chambered korina body, roasted maple neck, compound radius fingerboard, stainless steel saddles, and hot-rodded electronics make this one of the most flexible and enjoyable to play T-styles around!

Custom-shop-level construction and detail

The Pete Anderson Eastsider T teems with richness and warmth, thanks to its chambered korina body. Korina, a medium-light tonewood with mahogany-like sonic characteristics, delivers all the resonance you can handle, along with a lively, responsive, and harmonic-laden sound that's guaranteed to inspire. This classically crafted electric boasts a maple neck, which has been heat treated at over 300°F for an eye-grabbing look and added stability, along with a 6-bolt neck plate for added sustain and tuning constancy. The guitarists here at Sweetwater have found the Pete Anderson Eastsider T’s 10–14-inch compound radius, 22-fret fingerboard to be among the most playable around. Finally, a hand-initialed, serial-numbered headstock lends a high-end, custom-shop vibe to this top-shelf electric guitar.

Twang’tastic pickups and premium electronics

Though born and raised in the Midwest, Pete Anderson is known for dishing out Southern-tinged twang, and the Eastsider T is loaded with Reverend’s Talnico bridge and neck pickups for some seriously countrified tones. Producing a voice reminiscent of 1950s T-style pickups with a modern heft and clarity, the Eastsider T’s pickup set is perfect for burning up a honky-tonk! Toss in a host of premium electronics, including a push-pull phase switch, an upgraded Pure Tone output jack, a treble bleed circuit, and carefully chosen pots and polyester capacitors, and the Eastsider T is certain to satisfy the boutique tastes of discerning tone chasers.

Top-of-the-line hardware

When you dive into the Pete Anderson Eastsider T, you'll find high performance in every component. This guitar's Reverend Pin-Lock tuning machines lock your strings in place for out-of-this-world tuning stability and lightning-fast string changes. Plus, it’s equipped with a convenient dual-action truss rod and a tone-heightening Boneite nut. Rounding out the Eastider T’s mod-shop good looks is a set of custom knobs, tastefully embossed with the letter “R.”

Reviews

Still my Fav Tele
Waited awhile to review. Still thrilled with my Eastsider. Finish, quality, feel continue to motivate me to grab it first. Most playable out of the box Ive ever received. No more Tele gasing after my 5th. The satin neck and compound radius feel geat. Not heavily rolled but feels right. Pick ups are clear with good tonal range. I like the weight, solid feeling. Chambered but not too much. Body has nice rolled rear edges. Guitar is a bargain for what feels like a serious instrument.

Eastsider T
I had been wanting a tele-style guitar for some time and, after much deliberation, picked the Reverend over other brands. I'd never played an Eastsider before, but I had purchased a Reverend Charger 290 a few years back and was much impressed by the built quality, the neck in particular. Right out of the box, the Eastsider has been wonderful. It's everything I expected: great neck, quality hardware, wonderful pickups. It's a keeper.
A Great T Style Guitar
This guitar is appointed well for this price point with locking tuners, compound radius neck, stainless steel saddles, roasted maple neck, etc... It plays great and the pickups are nice. A lot of guitars in this price range and below come up a bit short with the pickups, but this one is good to go, IMO. I think you'd be hard pressed to find a better guitar for the money.
I own a 6-Gun HPP: but call your rep.
I feel the need to write here. As I also had major fret sprout with my guitar after waiting more than a day to open my it a year or so ago, per instructions. I am pretty good at monitoring n providing humidity to my guitars.

The issue party relates to overseas shipment, not sure how QC can address this matter. I also live in the harsher, 4-season reality of Minneapolis-St. Paul weather.

Sweetwater was very helpful with reimbursing me on the fret sprout the first time around. But yet again, the fret sprout has returned after this current winter, which is still in play as of 4/1/2025: Minnesota for you. Yuck!!

But hot molasses, what a great guitar for the price and perfect for live shows when you want to keep the more expensive babies at home.

Sweetwater has receptive n compassionate customer service. You'll get your fret sprout issues reimbursed.
Updated on 10 Jan 25 Review
I purchased this guitar on 1/6/25. All was great until I got it out of the case a couple of days ago and noticed a fair amount of fret sprout. I have numerous guitars including a Strat that I've had for over twenty years. All of my guitars remain in their case in my humidity controlled music room when not in use. None of my other guitars, including a cheapy Firefly, have had this issue. This guitar supposedly has a roasted maple neck. Assuming it does, my feeling is they didn't "roast" it enough before assembly and it has continued to cure a bit since leaving the factory. I don't know and I don't care. What I do care about is I shouldn't have to be addressing this issue after only six weeks of ownership. Again, I have guitars I purchased over 20 years ago that have never had this issue. It's not the end of the world. I can fix it myself, but the point is I shouldn't have to fix it. This is a $ guitar WITHOUT a case or gig bag. I find it pretty ridiculous to be honest.

Everything I said in my previous review still holds true. This is a nice guitar. It's appointed well and sounds great. I'll fix the sprout and move on, but I will think long and hard about any future Reverend purchases. My attitude is quite simple. Nice or not, why should I risk having to correct an issue after six weeks of ownership when there are plenty of other nice guitars that won't have any issues.
Music background: My background is I don't like having to fix brand new guitars!
