A Vintage-modern Twist on a Classic
Built with vintage styling and modern refinements, the Suhr Oso takes a new spin on a traditional guitar platform. This single-cutaway, T-style electric guitar begins with a unique basswood body and a 3/16-inch maple top as its tonal foundation. The roasted maple neck is carved into an Even C Slim profile and topped with a 22-fret Indian rosewood fingerboard for the perfect blend of smoothness and snap. At a 24.625-inch scale length, the Oso is slightly shorter than typical T-style guitars, lending itself to an even smoother and more comfortable playing experience. Suhr’s SSH and SSV pickups provide old-school humbucker warmth with modern articulation. Finally, Suhr’s 2-post tremolo and locking tuners promote a stable playing experience that can handle nearly any style of music under the sun.

Mesmerizing tonewoods
The Oso is a unique and modern take on the T-style guitar, featuring a balanced, resonant basswood body with a maple top dressed in a glossy finish. This foundation is combined with an ultra-sturdy roasted maple neck and an Indian rosewood fingerboard, resulting in a supreme-sounding and elegant-looking guitar. Sweetwater’s guitar-playing community already reveres Suhr’s superior build quality and exquisite selection of tonewoods, so when our guitarists got their hands on the Oso, they quickly became big fans of its shorter scale length and overall playability. The neck’s Even C Slim shape fits just right in the hand, with the perfect amount of timber to deliver a punchy sound full of sustain. Finally, the sleekness of the Oso continues with its hidden fret tangs, offering a clean, aesthetically pleasing look across the length of the neck.

A flexible array of Suhr pickups
With a single row of adjustable screw pole pieces and a second row of slug pole pieces, the Oso’s Alnico V–loaded Suhr humbuckers provide a potent gateway to a diverse range of intoxicating sonic textures. Its SSH bridge pickup strikes the perfect balance between vintage warmth and red-hot modern grind, yielding a sweet, open-sounding tonality and enough output to give your amp a serious kick in the teeth. The SSV neck pickup boasts a broad sonic aperture with minimal compression, dishing out a dynamic, vintage-output sound. Plug the Suhr Oso into your favorite amplifier, and you’ll be equipped for any musical situation that comes your way.
Adorned for any arrangement
Suhr left no detail unattended with the Oso. Up at the headstock, each string checkpoints across a TUSQ nut up to a set of Suhr’s proprietary locking tuning machines. This respective combination of purified string response and steadfast intonation already guarantees pro-grade playability, whether you’re studio tracking or center-stage showcasing. Backing this performance peace of mind is a Suhr 2-post tremolo, which elevates the singing sound of a vintage S-style trem with enhanced stability and a smoother, sleeker action.

Suhr: the pinnacle of craftsmanship, playability, and tone
Suhr doesn’t just build handcrafted, boutique-quality instruments and amplifiers — the company creates exceptional tools that fuel musical dreams and artistic passions. John Suhr began crafting custom guitars in the mid-1970s, and by the dawn of the 1980s, he was building made-to-order Pensa-Suhr instruments for a who’s who of top musicians. In the 1990s, John collaborated with celebrated rig builder Bob Bradshaw to design the now-legendary CAA 3+ and 3+SE preamps, as well as the CAA OD-100 amplifier. In 1997, after a stint as senior master builder for Fender’s Custom Shop, John founded his own company, a decision that enabled him to bring to fruition products of unrivaled quality, detail, and craftsmanship. Today, the Suhr name is synonymous with prestige; a guitar, bass, or amplifier with the Suhr marque garners instant respect. With elite players such as Mateus Asato, Reb Beach, Scott Henderson, James Norbert Ivanyi, Andre Nieri, Pete Thorn, Ian Thornley, Doug Aldrich, and Andy Wood on the company’s roster, you can be certain that your Suhr places you in esteemed company.
