Mix with Confidence — Every Detail, Every Decision
Who says that an honest nearfield needs to sound bad? Certainly not Amphion. Take the One15, for example. While extremely pleasant to listen to, this brutally truthful passive studio monitor tells it like it is, from its hyper-accurate transient response to its well-balanced low end, enabling you to make well-informed mix decisions. Additionally, thanks to an optimized 1.6kHz crossover, you’ll find the One15’s phase coherence and imaging to be absolutely spot on, nearly on par with a point-source design, ensuring your mixes translate flawlessly to myriad playback scenarios, from smartphone speakers to high-powered club systems. Moreover, the One15’s high-density Corian waveguide aligns the voice coils of its drivers, yielding industry-leading timing properties you’ll hear immediately upon first listen. Beyond that, the One15 eschews inferior reflex-port configurations for a meticulously tuned passive radiator, supplying you with even, natural low-frequency performance you’ll be confident to stake your reputation on. Finally, the One15’s even dispersion gives you consistent sound within a generous sweet spot, even at lower listening volumes. Flaunting a pure analog signal path with zero digital processing, the Amphion One15 delivers uncompromising clarity and natural detail, giving you the confidence to trust every mix decision you make.

Uniform dispersion meets time-aligned performance
Like all the Amphion monitors we stock here at Sweetwater, the One15 features a precision-engineered, fifth-generation waveguide crafted from high-density Corian. This advanced design enhances the tweeter’s coupling with air, enabling it to reach down to the 1.6kHz crossover point while delivering exceptionally uniform dispersion across a wide frequency range. Moreover, by physically aligning the drivers, the waveguide dramatically improves time and phase coherence, resulting in a rock-solid phantom center, razor-sharp imaging, and an expansive sweet spot.

Point-source precision with no audible crossover point
Driver integration is one of the greatest challenges in loudspeaker design. The goal is to achieve a single point where the acoustical centers of the driver combination can work together perfectly, just like what happens in real life. If you want to combine two different audio signals as seamlessly as possible, doesn’t it make sense to place the seam outside the most sensitive areas of the hearing range? Human hearing is not linear. The ear’s sensitivity is highest inside the critical middle of the hearing range, generally located between 2kHz and 50kHz. Employing an unconventionally low crossover point allows the use of drivers with the lowest possible moving mass in the range where the ear is most sensitive, resulting in an unprecedented amount of midrange clarity and depth and a single point source/phantom center image typically reserved for coaxial designs.
The science behind Amphion’s sealed design
A ported box always has uncontrolled pressure changes and turbulence inside the cabinet, which lead to decreased resolution — especially in the midrange — preventing a balanced audio signal from being reproduced optimally. The One15’s sealed cabinet design results in a dramatic improvement in midrange resolution and bass accuracy while also loading the room in a more controlled and predictable manner. Essentially a speaker cone, surround, and basket without the motor, Amphion’s rear-mounted passive radiator moves in perfect synchronization with the front woofer, ensuring that the distance from the front of the cabinet to the rear remains constant and that the balance of air in the cabinet is maintained. This results in a much tighter, even response in the low end of the spectrum, ensuring more accurate translation to nearly any playback system. A passive radiator is not the same as a rear port and is less sensitive to placement near a rear wall.
