A Floyd Rose-loaded Delight Built for Speed

If you've been searching for a show-ready shred machine that plays right, sounds great, and doesn't break the bank, the Floyd Rose-equipped Schecter Omen Extreme-6 FR checks all the right boxes. Its thin "C" maple neck with flat-radius rosewood fingerboard and 24 extra-jumbo frets lay the foundation for everything from fast runs to finger-tapping exploits. Its joined by a stunning quilt maple-topped mahogany body with a deep gloss finish and multi-ply crème binding, giving this axe tons of presence under stage lights. Sonically, the Omen Extreme-6 FR's capable Diamond Plus humbuckers with push-pull coil splits provide you with six pickup sounds for claiming your space in a mix. This FR model of the Omen Extreme-6 features a string-through-body Floyd Rose Special double-locking tremolo system that'll have you (and your guitar) squealing with delight. On the hardware side, you also get matching black chrome knobs and tuners to help you look and sound your best in any performance setting. If you're looking for a springboard into technical and aggressive styles of playing, Sweetwater guitar players recommend the Omen Extreme-6 FR.

Maple-topped mahogany body

A tried-and-true body pairing of figured maple on rich mahogany gives the Schecter Omen Extreme-6 FR its premium visuals and tonal core. Plus, with its crème multi-ply binding that extends from the body all the way up the neck into the headstock, this is a guitar with a look that's unmatched by its peers.

Shred-supporting neck, frets, and fingerboard

Neck feel is where the rubber meets the road for many guitarists. We're pleased to report that the Schecter Omen Extreme-6 FR is spec'd to support technical styles of playing. From heel to headstock, its thin "C" maple neck profile feels right in the hand. And whether you're sweep picking or alternate picking those arpeggios, its 14-inch-radius rosewood fingerboard and 24 extra-jumbo frets go a long way in preventing buzzes, fret outs, and hand cramps.

Coil-split Diamond Plus pickups

From brutalizing crunch to crystalline cleans, the Omen Extreme-6 FR has you covered. Its Diamond Plus humbucking pickups have tone and flexibility to go with the distance with you, stage to studio. Coil splitting is activated by a simple push-pull mechanism on the tone pot. Together with its 3-way selector, the Omen Extreme-6 FR offers you a total of six distinct pickup combinations for interacting with your music — from fusion to blues, and from rock to metal.

Genuine Floyd Rose Special tailpiece

Schecter didn't give the Omen Extreme-6 FR just any old tremolo, they went for the real deal: a Floyd Rose Special. The Floyd Rose Special is an authentic Floyd Rose design, which gives you the same design as an original vintage Floyd Rose model, plus the advantage of lightweight zinc alloy components. Thanks to its double-locking design, you can dive-bomb, whammy, and flutter all night with this trem.

Black chrome hardware

The Omen Extreme-6 FR comes blacked out head to toe in luxurious black chrome hardware for added player appeal. Looking for a guitar that makes an entrance? You'll want to check out the Schecter Omen Extreme-6 FR.

Amazing guitar
This guitar was a graduation present from my parents that I picked out. It takes a while to set up to your playing preference but when you get it done, it's amazing. I've been playing for years now and nothing plays as good as this one. The tone and quality of the guitar are amazing.
Awesome guitar!
Beginner guitar player here. I bought this to upgrade from an old Squire. The Schecter has a beautiful finish, great neck, and easily playable. I leave it out on display because it's too attractive to stuff in a case. Nice tone options build-in. My only complaint was the knobs are a bit tilted and rub against the finish. The knobs themselves are quality, heavy and with a nice finish. But the post length on the pots doesn't have enough to offset the knobs away from the finish so it rubs. Minor issue.

Nice guitar!
This is a solid, versatile guitar! The neck is thin-ish, but not overly so. The finish on the neck is "satin" and not overly thick. The pickups sound great clean and having the coil tap makes this guitar very versatile. With some grit applied, the pickups take on an aggressive but still articulate character that sits well in the mix with a full band. The tremolo is functional and once setup properly stays in tune even with heavy use. The guitar is very appealing visually and I found no flaws whatsoever in the finish.

This guitar serves as a backup during gigs due to its versatility in sounds/tone. Overall I feel it was a good deal price wise. I appreciate the guitar gallery at Sweetwater, especially knowing the weight and look of the front of the guitar. The guitar arrived playable, but I did perform a bit of the usual setup expected on a new guitar (truss rod/action/intonation).
Music background: Years of bad playing habits practiced to perfection.
Absolutely killer guitar!
The finish is even better looking than it is online. The guitar is a good weight and the tone and sustain is perfect. I would have given it a perfect score but it wasn't perfect out of the box. I did my own setup on the Floyd Rose and next, along with the bridge saddles and intonation, even after paying for Sweetwater setup. It just wasn't great. And, then I went to play a gig on New Years 2021 and the bridge pickup had nothing. No sound, nothing. I got it checked out and the pickup died, which is very rare. I put a DiMarzio Super Distortion in the bridge and played it at a gig last weekend and it was perfect. I love Schecter guitars and this one is my second one.
Music background: Sunset Blonde guitarist
Could have been great, neck pocket issues.
I purchased as a " Demo" . When it arrived it was not well set up . The high E noted out on the upper register. After hours trying to get it set up properly I finally decided it was not a neck issue(there were unlevel frets, however) but the movement of the neck in the pocket. Remove neck and check for any physical defects but discovered none at the neck butt. However the pocket is larger then neck , so any movement throws the neck to the left or right making it angled related to the bridge. Had to carefully determine the high side pocket width issue and shim it to prevent it moving. Was a big Schecter fan(3 others) and this poor workmanship has turned me off of their guitars , both lower cost and more expensive. Lost trust in their ability to make guitars that are well crafted. Too bad . After repair I rarely use it as originally purchased as it can't trust it to stay set up under spirited play. Moving on to other manufacturers and use this as an occasional practice guitar. Sad to have spent money on it. I'm sure Sweetwater is not to blame, but it does explain a demo priced less then new. Play and learn I suppose (or pay and learn).
