A trio of modes to choose from
The BOSS NS-1X’s Mode knob unlocks three different ways to cut noise from your signal, each of which is optimized for a variety of sonic situations.
- Reduction mode: This mode will be the go-to for most players, as it’s the most versatile and comprehensive noise-suppressor setting. Sweetwater guitarists of all stripes found a plethora of uses for this mode — it’s simply a top-of-the-line noise Suppressor.
- Gate mode: More specialized than reduction mode, Gate mode is fine-tuned for use with super-high-gain setups where fast and efficient noise suppression is of the utmost concern. Players who utilize tapping, sweeping picking, and brutal high-gain rhythmic styles will be well served on Gate mode.
