To Play It Is to Love It

Godin has made a name for themselves with their unique electric guitars. Now their Limited Godin Acoustic Series breaks new ground with premium tonewoods, design elements, and build quality for a sound, look, and playability that immediately says: “Godin.” Pick up the Godin Metropolis EQ Limited and strum a chord — you feel and hear the Godin difference right away. The Metropolis EQ Limited sports a large, dreadnought-style body with genuine mahogany back and sides and a solid cedar top. The mahogany neck feels just right, as your fingers dance on the smooth-as-glass Richlite fingerboard. And the sound? This guitar is a veritable tone cannon with powerful projection and a big, balanced sound that is amplified flawlessly by the onboard LR Baggs Anthem electronics. The Godin Metropolis EQ Limited: to play it is to love it.

Premium tonewoods deliver timeless tone

The Godin Metropolis EQ Limited combines a solid cedar top with genuine mahogany back and sides. Thanks to cedar’s quick response and midrange overtones, Sweetwater regularly recommends cedar-topped acoustics for fingerstylists and other players with a light touch. As a body tonewood, mahogany generally serves up a focused sound with a full midrange; mahogany is treasured for its punchy midrange bloom and strongly focused, earthy, and somewhat dry fundamental without a preponderance of ringing overtones. An acoustic guitar with mahogany back and sides sits nicely in a track, which is why engineers and studio guitarists tend to prefer “hogs” for tracking. In the Metropolis EQ Limited, the sonic attributes of these two premium tonewoods join forces to deliver formidable projection with robust low end, midrange punch, and shimmering presence that works brilliantly whether miked in the studio or amplified onstage.

LR Baggs Anthem electronics

The LR Baggs Anthem Tru-Mic acoustic pickup system will change the way you look at acoustic guitar mic pickups. This feedback-busting, natural-sounding pickup is the result of over 30 years of effort. There’s no modeling and no illusions going on here. The Anthem is strictly a well-designed microphone that picks up your guitar — clean, clear, and dynamic. While many guitar mics are prone to feedback or sound annoyingly boxy, the LR Baggs Anthem is like having your acoustic sound simply turned up, so it's full of detail, warmth, and personality — and feedback-free.

Incredible

I've played and owned top model Gibsons, Taylors, Martins etc, and this guitar can equal or top the best of them, but at 1/3 the price. A++

Godin Guitars Are Great

I've had my Metropolis EQ Limited Havana Burst for several months now, but forgot to leave a review.

First, I love that Godin uses cedar tops in several of their guitars . . . I just like that tone. When the cedar is paired with the solid mahogany back and sides on the Metropolis, it gives that nice mellow, laid back tone that I like. I don't use picks and the Metropolis responds; finger picking works as well; but you can "bang" on it strumming with a pick and it will be just fine.

With the LR Baggs Anthem, whatever sound you're after should be there.

Godin guitars, in general, are a true value. The Metropolis can match the quality and sound of guitars costing twice as much or more (in my opinion).
Music background: Playing here and there; public and private.

Great guitar

I'm not really a big review guy. I just can't say enough about this guitar.I love Godin guitars, so I was really excited about The Metropolis line.
I took a shot and went for it. Wow. This has been my go to live guitar since I bought it. The LR Baggs Anthem sounds great.I have quite a number of acoustics including Taylors and Gibsons. This guitar definitely gives them much competition in my opinion.
Thanks as always to my sales rep Mark Bruhn, who has become a good friend over the years.
Music background: Pro with 53 years playing experience.
