Dark, Smoky, and Feels Like Butter

With its dark, smoky, and harmonically complex sound, the Paiste Masters 17" Dark Crash is well suited for delicate ride patterns or mallet swells. You can expect a very rich, almost mystical, dark crash sound, with a very lively intensity that will let you create broad accents in moderately loud environments. With medium-long sustain and silky character, the Masters 17" Dark Crash has a velvety feel, despite its quick response. The Paiste Masters 17" Dark Crash will bring a unique texture to your drum sound. Got questions? Sweetwater Sales Engineers receive ongoing product training on nearly everything we sell. Give us a call; we'll be glad to help you out!

Paiste Masters 17" Dark Crash Cymbal at a Glance:
  • The Paiste Masters series
  • Paiste - a tradition of innovation
The Paiste Masters series

Starting out as an assemblage of 12 ride cymbals, the Paiste Masters series eventually expanded to include crashes and hi-hats. Superior and unique sonic textures were achieved by utilizing CuSn20 bronze in the design of these hand-manufactured cymbals. The Masters series represents the culmination of Paiste's decades of experience with the design and building of cymbals.

Paiste - a tradition of innovation

Headquartered in Switzerland, Paiste meets the creative needs of drummers and percussionists with innovative cymbals, gongs, and bronze percussion instruments. Founded at the beginning of the 20th century, Paiste lays claim to a number of cymbal firsts, including the first use of 8% bronze, the wavy-edged hi-hat bottom cymbal, the bell-less flat ride, unlathed hammered cymbals, color-coated cymbals, China cymbals with a downturned edge, and the invention of their Signature Bronze Alloy. World-class drummers such as Bill Bruford, Stewart Copeland, and Vinnie Colaiuta have long relied on Paiste cymbals to forge their signature sounds - and you can, too!

Paiste Masters 17" Dark Crash Cymbal Features:
  • A traditional bronze crash with a dark, smoky flavor
  • Very lively intensity and medium-long sustain glue your kit together
  • Medium-thin weight strikes the perfect balance between brightness and durability
