The Mariposa’s bold-yet-ergonomic okoume body reaches toward the heavens like a butterfly in flight. It’s beautifully coordinated by a laser-etched floral pickguard and a full set of matching hardware: pickup covers, bridge, tuners, and trem.

Flawless playability

A 22-fret, C-profile roasted maple neck and 10"-radius ebony fingerboard give the Mariposa the versatility to supply riffers and pedal lovers with endless inspiration. The back of the Mariposa’s neck has been hand rubbed with gunstock oil and wax for a flawlessly smooth, satiny finish. Stainless steel high profile/medium width frets give the Ernie Ball Music Man Mariposa durability and great looks for life.

Two Music Man humbucking pickups, custom-wound to Rodríguez-López’s specifications, enrich the Mariposa’s okoume/maple tonewood cocktail with a delicious full-range character and a healthy dose of output. Effortless setup

The Ernie Ball Music Man Mariposa sports an innovative truss rod adjustment wheel below the neck joint that’s easy to access and operate. Great guitar and service

I don't typically write reviews for any products but I had to break my habit on this one. First, I want to mention Sales Engineer Mike Johnson. I've been doing business with Sweetwater for a long time because I've come to expect only the best service from them. Mike certainly upholds that tradition.

I was in the market for a new electric and wanted something that I hadn't experienced. Mike recommended Ernie Ball. His experience and knowledge helped me decide on a Mariposa.

I received it in a couple of days and have been thrilled with it ever since I opened the case. It's light and super-comfortable to play. The legendary EBMM neck is probably the best I've ever felt. I'm having a blast with the unique controls on the Mariposa and simply love the trem. Everything about this instrument exudes quality.

For me, this was a big investment but I don't regret spending a single penny on this excellent guitar.

Sweet!

This is the best guitar I've ever played. Huge Omar fan... Since owning this I have started selling off parts of my collection, as not another guitar even comes close, and they are sitting there collected dust. Plays like a dream, sounds amazing clean or distorted. I want a second one!

Sweetwater once again came through, kicked butt during a pandemic! Had a little hold up with Fedex. My man Matt Masek made a call, and then the guitar was at my house! Thanks again!

My only complaint..........I didn't get a bag of sweetwater candy with this guitar, WTH??!! 3k and no fireballs or bit-o-honey!!! geez lol

If you're thinking about buying this guitar, DO IT!!!

As soon as I saw it...

...I knew I would have to buy it. This was my first ever Ernie Ball Music Man, and it probably won't be my last! The roasted maple neck on the Mariposa is one of the most comfortable I've played. So smooth! The Custom Wound Humbuckers are quiet but can pack a punch with some dirt. They also clean up nicely. The controls take a bit getting used to. At first glance, I initially thought it had the standard volume/tone, but it's actually 2 volume knobs. The pickup selector is smooth - and the laser etched pick guard it's housed in looks amazing. This is one eye-catching instrument. Probably not for everybody, but if you're looking for something different, you've found it here. Highly recommend.
