Quantum-inspired Phaser from Catalinbread

Inspired by the great mysteries of quantum mechanics, the Many Worlds phaser pedal from Catalinbread is the company’s first-ever phaser. In true Catalinbread fashion, the Many Worlds phaser takes a vintage reference point — in this case, an iconic single-knob stompbox — but pairs it with expanded control knobs (attack, depth, feedback, and mix) and modulation from eight distinct LFO options. The result is a pedal that pushes the phaser’s possibilities to unforeseen limits. Sweetwater guitarists are blown away by the sheer versatility of the Many Worlds phaser — just a few small adjustments can take the tone from vintage warmth to squirming laser-like feedback that’s out of this world.

Pushing phasers to the limit

At the heart of the Many Worlds phaser is an 8-way LFO waveform. A key feature, the LFO knob delivers bold customization and user-friendly icons for sine, square, sawtooth, reverse sawtooth, triangle, and more. Waveform selection makes honing in on notches and swirls that work with your sound easier than ever, and two additional envelope phase options and a stacking LFO mode toss even more seasoning and personality to the mix. The one-of-a-kind Catalinbread Many Worlds phaser drips with outsized organic weirdness that's simply hard to believe until you plug it in for yourself.

Live from the multiverse

In quantum physics’ dominant Copenhagen interpretation of reality, the objective world is limited to measurable outcomes observed by scientists and technicians. But Copenhagen’s rival theory, the Many Worlds interpretation, which inspires this phaser, posits a more slippery truth: multiplicities of quantum phenomena occur whether scientists observe them or not. The Many Worlds interpretation birthed the idea of parallel universes — and hence, this phaser's cutting-edge features.

Which world will you choose?

The Many Worlds phaser packs an incredible amount of tone, timbre, and time controls into a simple breezy layout that's lightweight and compact. The onboard frequency settings (attack and wave depth), feedback adjustor, and wet/dry mix knob strike the sweet spot between flexibility and usability, though beware — small control tweaks may send your tone down a wormhole to alternate dimensions! Up to the 12 o’clock range yields familiar phaser sounds a la slight swirls and bubbly shimmer, which leaves tons of room to crank controls up into weird and eerie territory. More extreme settings tend to spit and spurt with drips of underwater or laser-like feedback, and the 8-way LFO selector makes it easy to dial in low-, mid-, or high-frequency feedback highlights to complement your playing. Plus, the mix knob's super wide range lets you saturate your signal or add just a colorful touch of phaser tone. Don’t delay, the Many Worlds phaser is here to stay!

Reviews

The Many Worlds Phaser,
I have had this pedal for a few weeks now and I really like it. It will give you a variety of sounds such as the, Bad Stone, P 90's, and other effects I've never heard before. I like the LFO setting a lot, with a good fuzz and vibrato, into this pedal it gives me, a Hendrix like sound. This pedal is very cool!!! Thank you Sweetwater, and Kevin Samuels.
Music background: Close to 50 years playing & using pedals!
Versatile vibes
This pedal is pretty sweet. It knocked the Keeley BubbleTron off my board because of the mix feature, so you aren't forced to get an overwhelming amount of effect. That makes for a nice subtle compliment even for blues or rock. Of course you can go Gilmour,
Page, or all out whacky as well!
Unlovable
I've had it for a couple years, and kind of hate it. It's well made and nice to look at, I just can't find a setting like. I had a bad stone previously, loved it, but thought I "needed" more adjustability/ tweakability- I was wrong lol. I picked up a warm audio jet phaser (used) and absolutely love it!
Music background: Hobbyist
I wanted to love this
I really wanted to love this pedal. And there is a lot to love about it. But the LFO makes so much background noise it's almost unbearable on the wet side of the mix. If they fix this problem, it would be five stars for sure
