These in-ear monitors are intended for professional musicians, critical listening, and audiophiles and provide a detailed soundstage with next-level clarity. There’s also a detachable Linum Estron UltraBaX cable for no-compromise sound. Finally, your new in-ears include an ear tip fit kit, carrying case, and other accessories. If you require next-level accuracy, choose Westone Audio Mach 80 Professional In-ear Monitors.

Welcome to the Mach Series

Westone Audio’s Mach Series of in-ear monitors leverage the company’s decades of engineering experience to outfit users with the tools they need to make and enjoy music at the highest level. The engineers at Westone Audio pulled out all the stops to create an ergonomic design that’s comfortable to wear for hours on end. Other top-notch features include ultra-durable Estron T2 connectors, upgraded cables, and Westone Audio’s signature balanced-armature drivers. Experience sound the way it’s intended to be heard with Westone Audio Mach Series Professional In-ear Monitors.

Eight top-notch balanced-armature drivers

Mach 80 in-ear monitors boast eight balanced-armature drivers in each ear. The drivers are configured in a 3-way system with two drivers for bass, two for midrange, and a whopping four drivers for the treble. Westone Audio’s balanced-armature drivers are compact and ultra-efficient, meaning that you hear a massive, detailed sound without weighing down your ears. Plus, the two passive crossover points avoid critical frequencies, ensuring that you get the best possible sound throughout the massive 5Hz-22kHz frequency response. You’ll never sacrifice audio quality with a pair of Westone Mach 80 in-ears.

T2 connectors dramatically increase durability

Premium drivers and comfortable ergonomics don’t mean much if you can’t hear your audio! One of the many reasons Sweetwater is excited about the Westone Audio Mach Series monitors is that they include T2 connectors on each earphone. The T2 connector system delivers rock-solid connection in a streamlined package. The design prevents intermittence, lessens socket wear, and withstands greater pull forces. Plus, the T2 connection system carries an IP-67 rating that provides robust protection from dust and water. Low profile and tough as nails, T2 connectors make your earphones last longer.

Includes Linum Estron UltraBaX Cable

Westone Audio’s top-of-the-line UltraBaX earphone cable features a quad-twisted cable with 224 strands of silver-plated copper wire for unbelievably clean audio with no microphonics. Better still, the cable flaunts just 0.6 ohms impedance, ensuring that the cable adds no sonic coloration to your signal. The UltraBaX cable comes equipped with Linum T2 connectors that provide a rock-solid connection and barely-there look. Westone Audio also tells Sweetwater that the T2 connector decreases intermittency and seized cables by over 99%.

Packaged with extra accessories

A selection of accessories rounds out the Mach 80 package. Your purchase includes an ear tip “fit kit” with five sizes of Westone Audio’s foam and silicone ear tips. Once you determine your size, you’re guaranteed a good seal with all-day comfort. A watertight, dustproof, and crush-resistant Pelican case comes next, ensuring safe storage for your favorite monitors. Finally, Westone Audio threw in a cable tie and cleaning tool to help you keep your monitors and cable in top form.

Unreal soundstage and accuracy!

The speed and imaging on the low frequency on these is incredible. They rival JH Audio custom IEMs I've worn touring for years. The transient response is excellent and the top end is smooth and natural. Not fatiguing so far.

Additionally the variety of ear bud size options is not taken for granted. The fit is snug and great and I usually have had problems with generic IEMs in the past (Shure sennheiser etc).

The Mach80's sound amazing, I am really impressed!

Just A Scribed Tease Of A Grandiose Aural Experience

DISCLAIMER: This is quite an inadequate review for two reasons. Firstly, I have not tested these monitors with an exiguous variety of music. I used pure lossless binary audio files however. Secondly, I have not got a 6.33mm adaptor to connect these monitors to my Rupert Neve Designs RNHP Precision Headphone Amplifier. The comparisons made are amongst these monitors and my AKG K872 monitors I have used for years connected to that pre-amplifier thus the signal in these Westone Audio monitors is not pure as be it should.

The parcel arrived and was received by me Thursday 26 May 2022. The box has got an outer sleeve to be removed and opens by flipping upwards a short flap on one side; it is attached magnetically. Within the box is a two-piece foam liner that secures the Pelican case. Within the Pelican case is the same type of foam liner with deep cut-outs for most of the components. One aspect which is a clear sign of the times is the non-existence of printed material but rather a plastic card which contains a QR code to download the manual from Westone Audio's website [a sighted person told me so]. Quite unnecessarily and superfluously is a sticker which performs its intended function [to adhere] poorly.

Westone Audio were considerate to fasten the cable with a reusable rubber piece that forms a loop round the cable once manipulated in circular geometry and what is presumed to be a cleaning tool in the [thick] resealable bag with the ear tips. However, three major disbenefits plague this set and for the money it is no less than disheartening and disappointing. Firstly and least importantly, there is no 6.33mm adaptor. Most persons whom utilise pro audio equipment know and quite likely use 6.33mm TRS connexion. Unfortunately no such adaptor was included. This gives to me the impression of a consumer-grade set for a pro audio monetary sum. Secondly and much more importantly, there are not any tactile markers [e.g. braille letters 'r' and 'l' are possible to be embossed on the faces] on each monitor to discern left and right. I am completely physically blind and have not got reference to colour; these are colour-coated which is moot. Shame on Westone Audio for not considering _all__ of its potential customers. Thirdly and equally important, the same colour-coating without tactile discernment applies to the cable. It is literally impossible for me as someone whose environment is predicated solely on touch and sound to know which T2 connector inserts into which monitor. Shame on them; this is deplorably inexcusable.

For they whom know not, the AKG K872 ole-ear monitors present a sound unlike anything most humans have heard. The quantity and quality of detail – whatever be it may – make every sound so vulnerable. Nothing is coloured and / or concealed. Some exceptions notwithstanding, this is my preferred every day manner by which to listen to audio. I knew to expect nothing dissimilar from the Westone Mach 80 monitors – and they disappoint me not. The default silicone ear tips were excessively small for my ear canals thus my systematic process was to begin to use the most large ear tips and test downwards in size. However, I decided not to test the silicone ear tips; foam isolates much more effectively and saved me much time in this case. One can deduce the quality of the foam ear tips is high just by touching them. Personally, the most large foam ear tips fit my ear canals perfectly and when music plays I do forget things are in my ears. For they whom have never inserted foam ear tips inside of their ears, the sine qua non is for them to be compressed evenly cylindrically, inserted, and held for fifteen seconds for decompression to occur. In more simple phraseology, for guaranteed eargasms to eventuate thereafter, one must make the tips placid, insert completely inside of the canal, and sustain that position in-hand for fifteen seconds for each tip must become fully erect. Once this has betided in both ear canals one should hear almost nothing. Personally, I will never revert to silicone ear tips. The comfort and isolation via foam ear tips is unexampled and all else are exceptionable.

Never was I satisfied with any in-ear audio transducer; the Mach 80 in-ear monitors changed that. For the first time ever I have got some of the most sonically precise reproduction of music and audio generally that can exist in such a small package at this juncture of writing. Comparative to the K872 monitors, these Mach 80 monitors [connected to my MacBook Pro directly unfortunately] are not very dissimilar. The K872 monitors enshroud the one who wears them with a mighty sound stage that seems etherial and comprehends all frequencies one can wish to hear. The Mach 80 monitors enshroud the one who wears them with a more slightly small and intimate sound stage that seems not quite etherial and comprehends most frequencies one can wish to hear. The more small sound stage conveyed by the Mach 80 monitors translates partially to less channel separation. I notice the same instrumentation on the same channels is 'closer to me' which is not a disbenefit – especially for these marvels of in-ear technology. Using the music accessible at the time to compare and contrast the two different monitors, it was discovered the Mach 80 units have less sub-50 or possibly sub-30 hertz output withal. After I listened critically I can hear more possibly subsonic frequencies from the K872 units that contribute to the gargantuan nature of the sound stage in such an opulent manner. The sound stage set forth by the Mach 80 monitors is absolutely no less than plenteous can I cannot envisage how they are capable to deject.

great monitors

I really like them. I am a sax player so when you have both of them in your ears they will resonate through your skull if you are applying a growl to your sound, but that is pretty normal for in ears. I usually just take one out if I am going to play that way. That certainly doesnt degrade the performance of these drivers. I really like the bass response also. I would recommend these as a entry level IEM. You certainly can pay a lot more for IEM's but I think these will be all I need.
