The Perfect Stand for Your Desktop Synths

There's no doubt about it — tweaking desktop modular synthesizers is a blast. But placing them flat on your desk isn't very ergonomic. Ultimate Support's MDS-100 solves this problem. This stand positions your modular devices at a comfortable angle, while adjustable outer walls ensure a perfect fit. A center dividing wall makes mounting two side-by-side modules a breeze. And while it's designed for desktop modules, the MDS-100 is also great for integrating effects pedals into your hardware synth rig. It's also a convenient way to elevate your control surface. The MDS-100 is built from a durable glass polymer plastic, so it will give you many years of reliable use.

Flexible and adjustable

The MDS-100 works with nearly any piece of gear, thanks to its flexible design. Its adjustable side walls allow it to hold devices of all shapes and sizes and lock them securely into place. Desktop synthesizers, drum machines, effects pedals, control surfaces, and more — they'll all fit snugly on the MDS-100. And for extra versatility, the MDS-100 includes a center dividing wall for placing two devices side by side.

It's expandable, too!

If you run out of room, the MDS-100 can be expanded with the optional MDS-X Expander. This kit accommodates two stacked MDS-100 units, resulting in a well-designed 2-tier stand. Not only is this system ergonomic, at Sweetwater we've found that it also minimizes your gear's footprint to free up desk space.

Reviews

super functional
Pretty neat, I'm using this little fella to hold my nano board with my pre/power amp setup. Does the a good job holding everything in place.
Outstanding Quality and Value
I bought two of these, one for a FaderPort 16 and one for a Console 1. I removed one of the side rails from each of the two stands and turned the other horizontally to give my FP16 and C1 more vertical lift. I used one of the side rails to augment the bottom tray that the FP16 rests on (had to drill a couple of holes to secure the rail). This was necessary because of the odd shaped front of the unit. While the Console 1 sits perfectly, the FP16 did require a bit of finessing for stability. Still, considering these stands were not necessarily meant for the units I'm using them for, they work amazingly well and are just what I needed at a fair price point. Excellent deal from my standpoint.
Could use to be slightly bigger.
I got two of these with the extension to make a two tier setup. The only thing is, it's for four Mooger Fooger pedals, and they are a bit too tall to fit on the bottom shelf. I ended up leaning the bottom two on the front lip of the top shelf and that works fine for my studio, but it isn't really the way this system is supposed to work.
Solid. Using with Softube Console 1.
Been looking for stands for console 1 and this had the right angle and heft to it-stable and sturdy. I had to remove one of the side brackets to make the unit fit, but that is a great feature of this stand, all three rack dividers or brackets can be moved or removed. Really like this unit. Simple setup. Sturdy footprint.
Music background: Singer songwriter, worship leader, hobbyist engineer.
Great way to organize your studio
I have a large flat table in my studio but my neck was hurting from looking down at my mostly flat synths. This positions them up to a very comfortable viewing angle. The side grippers can be removed if your devices exceed the width of the tray. If you stack two, the vertical height of the bottom tray can be a little restrictive, but there's enough of a gap to route audio and MIDI cables between the trays.
