Works great
Using with a JC-120 solid state amp in the fx loop. It is recommended not to use other fx in the chain but I found no issues with using fx before the box. It is excellent for dialing my volume back with precision so that Im not bothering the family late at night. The JC-120 is amazing but if you are familiar with them 2 is pretty loud, having more variability with the volume is epic! Considering buying another so that i can use stereo fx in the loop.

On a side note you could build one of these for very cheap. But its fairly inexpensive and way less hassle…. I would say this is well worth it.
Great value attenuator
I usually use Bugera PS-1 attenuators for the tube amps we have at home, but I needed a super compact one for the lunchbox D-style clone amp I just got. The JHS Little Black Box works wonders if you have a free effects loop. Note that the instructions say that you can't run effects through if you use this, but I don't have anything I run through this one so it's fine by me. Works like a charm and is fairly transparent. I didn't notice any major change to the sound of my guitars while using this.
Tames the beast!
Picked this up when I ordered my Fender Blues Deluxe Amp and it does what its designed to do. The good folks at JHS make a fine product. My loud amp is now controllable with this little inexpensive doodad. I can crank up the tubes and play it at room volumes or anywhere in-between and still get that classic tube break up. Highly recommend this device for those that have an out of control tube amp and want to stay in the neighbors good graces, i think it would be great for an apartment too if thats where you are. Just get one, it doesn't mess with the amps sound at all. Doesn't come with patch cables so get a couple 6-8" lengths right angle to straight. Waiting for mine to get here and had to use what I had from a pedalboard supply.

It just works
I have used this with 4 tube amps. All with great success. I hardly ever used an amps effects loop until now. I usually use a floorboard {ME-80} or pedals with tube amps. Or straight into the amp itself if it's a modeler like my Katana which has its own floorboard. If your amp has an effects loop and you want to get a decent cranked sound at a reasonable volume, this is for you. I even use it on my Marshall DSL-1cr and DSL-1h one watt tube amps cranked for "midnight" and wee hours playing. For bedroom and apartment players, it's worth its weight in gold. For clubs/bars you can take your "big-boy" amp, set it where it sounds best or crank it and just dial it back for the room your gigging while retaining your amps piss and vinegar at less than ear-splitting volume.
A must have
This thing is great. Allowed me to get the fullest sound from my head and cab at manageable volume levels. A must have.
