No-nonsense, Vintage-style Track Sculpting

The Lindell Audio LiNTEC is a vintage-style program equalizer that lets you add a renowned piece of track-sculpting studio hardware to your rack. This one-channel, two-band EQ boasts a familiar, tried-and-true workflow, allowing for simultaneous boost and cut for each band. Whether you want to add heft to your kick drum, bring more air to your vocals, or infuse your mix bus with extra weight, the LiNTEC is more than up to the task. It's also great for adding an ear-grabbing harmonic complexity to program material — even with its EQ controls set to zero. Unlike most comparable hardware units, the LiNTEC brandishes solid-state circuitry, which yields a faster transient response and lower self-noise characteristics than most tube-based designs. The LiNTEC contains high-quality components, including an OPA-Melcor 1731-style op-amp, a hand-wound inductor, and custom-designed transformers. Finally, the LiNTEC features solid-feeling stepped knobs and real hardware bypass. Any engineer seeking hardware that enhances the sound quality of all audio passing through it will be highly satisfied with the Lindell Audio LiNTEC.

A familiar workflow with easy repeatability

Engineers familiar with the workflow of a vintage-style program equalizer will have no trouble finding their way around the LiNTEC. This EQ's old-school design includes simultaneous boost and cut for each of its two bands, along with a Bandwidth control. The engineers here at Sweetwater appreciate the LiNTEC's stepped knobs, as they ensure dead-simple repeatability and make matching a stereo pair of units a piece of cake.

A classic design for modern sounds

The Lindell Audio LiNTEC brandishes filters based on the classic program equalizers of yesteryear, ensuring predictable behavior for engineers who are familiar with the vintage units. That said, these filters are complemented by an entirely new gain-structure design that yields a warm, harmonic-rich sound that's decidedly modern. The LiNTEC is a veritable secret weapon; it will pump up your bass lines and kick drums, add airy goodness to stringed instruments and vocals, and add an indelible warmth to any program material you run through it.

Contains high-quality components

Unlike most vintage-style program equalizers, the LiNTEC boasts a solid-state design instead of a tube-driven one. Solid state offers numerous advantages, including a faster transient response, lower self-noise characteristics, superior unit-to-unit matching for stereo pairing, and better reliability. The LiNTEC houses an OPA-Melcor 1731-style op-amp, which is the same op-amp used in Lindell Audio's VIN and Retro 500 Series compressors. You also get a hand-wound inductor and custom-designed input and output transformers.

Reviews

LOVE this thing
This thing makes vocals sound better. It brings out the detail in the recording. Really dig this paired with a LiN76 in my analog vocal chain. I can notice a clear before and after when I put it into bypass. I made a Youtube video reviewing the unit where you can see the curves this thing can produce. I'll be adding another unit in the near future so I can run them in stereo.
Excellent Eq
I bought one after reading reviews because I couldn't believe it could be this good for the price. I did have to return it because it had no output. Sweetwater quickly had a new one in the mail to me. The eq sounds amazing. I am using it on vocals, bass, and drum tracks. I like it so much that within a couple weeks I bought a second for a stereo pair. Getting the meters matched is really difficult, but matching the settings on the pair and running stereo drum mix through the eqs they are very very closely matched as advertised. Well worth the money! I recommend a pair of the Lin76s to go with it!
Quality and value
Great eq
Helps to shape sound with accuracy.

Bought 2 of them for mixing and mastering.
This EQ rocks for vocals and drums!
I have to say that I'm a Pultec EQ fan like a lot of sound engineers around the world. I been using plugin emulations from UAD and they sound fantastic. I also have analog gear with a variety of EQ's in my arsenal, I personally love the hybrid work flow to add weight to my tracks. I have a good vocal recording chain for a home studio, I have great EQ UAD emulations and I use them in my vocal tracks. The vocal tracks were seating well on my projects but I want it to bring them a little more forward without adding to much gain or more compression. Then I got the idea of adding more saturation and harmonic content to my vocal tracks instead to get the needed effect. Then I read about the LINTEC construction design and I noticed that they used big transformers with a solid state design vs tubes on the original Pultec, and I decided to pull the trigger and try it. I have to say that I was a little skeptical on the results since I was running my tracks into an API EQ and I was not getting what I was looking for, well, I was wrong! Once I run my vocal tracks into this unit with a little bit of tweaking, I did get the airy highs and some warm on the lows, but more importantly, it added a little bit of saturation and harmonics and it brought my vocals forward as I needed with just a little bit of gain and retaining the original dynamic range! I bypassed and do some gain match because I still did not believe it, I run the same test for three different days and this EQ is a keeper! I want to thanks Sweetwater and my sound engineer Colton K. for making this easy for me to try this awesome EQ! The EQ curves are gentle as the original Pultec and with just a few controls it's a no brainer!
Music background: Song writer, composer, producer and pianist.

Sounds GREAT!!
