Reviews

Wow!

I bought this guitar for someone because they had my very first guitar that I ever owned, a Yamaha from 1987. It's a long story, but the guy agreed to give it back as long as I gave him something playable. So I look for something cheap, because that Guitar isn't worth very much, but it has sentimental value.

I own many Gibson guitars, but this Epiphone Les Paul Tribute plays beautifully, the frets ends are smooth and it looks great. The finish and woodgrain are done very nicely. It needs a minor a set up because the action is a bit high, but other than that I can't believe this is a sub $ guitar.

My NEW best friend
Honestly it is one of the nicest I have owned. Solid body to it ,, really good tones,,, and by the time you finish reading this I'm going to be purchasing the boss katana gen 3 100 watt combo amplifier tomorrow
Amazing value, a truly gorgeous, solid instrument.
So...for balance...this is my first non-Fender guitar. I had reservations about ordering an Epiphone sight unseen, as I have read the many posts across social media disparaging their quality. I can't say if Epiphone has stepped up their quality, or those reviews were nonsense from people dedicated to their chosen brands...but this is a beautiful guitar. Absolutely solid, sounds fantastic, and is a joy to play. Feels so great in the hands. And this Vintage Sunburst is a real stunner. It's always hard to tell from promo photos, but in this case they are pretty spot on. My phone here artificially increased contrast, and in real life the guitar is closer to the promo shot in subtlety. Now...for balance, the one place it does show it's entry level bones is the bolt-on neck, which leaves the slightest little edge in the curved part where the neck attaches...but I never once noticed it playing, and you can't see it unless you are looking for it.

And to provide further balance...I mentioned this is my first non-fender. In fact, just 24 hours before ordering this beauty, I ordered a new Squier Strat for my collection, at the same price point. Dollar for dollar, this is a sturdier, higher quality, higher value guitar, no doubt. I love my Fender guitars, but this Epiphone has completely changed my mind about the brand, the style, and what I can expect at budget model prices. This Les Paul Tribute punches WAY above its weight, and it has me thinking about adding another guitar to my collection...saving up for a set neck version. I love this guitar, and it's the one I want to grab when come into my studio to just play awhile.
