Signature Les Paul from a Metal Icon

Hunting for that perfect balance of brutal tone and versatile features? The new Epiphone Matt Heafy Les Paul Custom Origins guitar is your winning bet. This long-awaited collaboration features a mahogany body, maple top, mahogany neck, and custom-voiced Fishman Fluence pickups, all designed with input from Matt Heafy (Trivium, Capharnaum, Ibaraki). This staggering guitar pairs modern bells and whistles with a nostalgic look that's inspired by the first Les Paul that Matt owned. Sweetwater guitarists are quite impressed with the value and craftsmanship this guitar displays. Though designed for heavy-hitting metal tone, the two Fishman pickups onboard leverage a huge number of voicings for tonal alchemy that turns any playing style into pure gold.

Heafy-voiced Fishman pickups

This Les Paul features two gold-accented Fluence Fishman pickups custom voiced and developed to Matt Heafy’s specifications. An active alnico neck pickup delivers high-output humbucking tone that’s crisp and fluid, while the ceramic bridge pickup delivers more aggressive bite. And the feast of fire doesn’t stop there. Four unique push-pull knobs also give you access to overwound single-coil tones, and the bridge pickup can be switched to passive humbucking for a different tenor. The result? Five distinct pickup settings for use separately or together, and an insane amount of tonal variety. Whatever genre is your jam, there’s a tone onboard that you're going to love.

Optimized Les Paul tone and speed

Matt Heafy’s signature model is powered by the tried-and-true formula of solid mahogany tonewoods with a maple top. This same combination has fueled decades of iconic rock. You’ll find mahogany perfect for bold tone with big sustain that sings and that the maple top adds a slight bright crispiness. When it comes to playability, the Matt Heafy Les Paul is optimized for speed. Its precision mahogany neck features a SpeedTaper “D” neck carve with a contoured heel for upper-fret access and lightning-fast riffs up and down the neck.

Winning hardware

The hardware onboard the Epiphone Matt Heafy Les Paul Custom Origins is exactly what you’d expect from its namesake. Premium mini-Rotomatic locking tuners and a Tune-o-matic bridge ensure strong tuning stability, even when you really dig in. The guitar's custom black control knobs have a lower profile compared to standard LP knobs, so you never have to fear a volume or tone control mishap in the middle of a performance. Plus, this guitar’s strap buttons feature a reinforced cap that’s built to work like aftermarket strap locks, so your axe stays 100% secure even when you’re lost in the moment.

Badass MKH Epiphone

I love how it has the classic look with a modern flare with Matt's Signature Fishman pickups. And I'm sure it plays great as well as it looks

Matt heafy Epiphone

I have owned 4 Gibsons in the past, this guitar is the Real Deal, finish is as good as American made and these pick-ups are top notch. I HIGHLY recommend this for anyone to buy,

A great player!

Let me start by saying I own everything from old Epiphones to Gibson custom shop guitars. I saw this one in person and grabbed it as I loved the white. The Guitar didn't have a QC flaw on it but some frets that needed a polish. After some fresh strings and a setup, it played really really well. The fishmans let you do clean or dirty tones as well as single coil with the pull of a knob. I just wish they would have included the diagram in the case showing what each setting does. Instead, I had to research it myself on Fishman's website. The thin neck felt a tad smaller than a 60's LP neck, but it's nice, thin, and fast playing. The ebony fretboard is nice. The bridge and tail could use an upgrade as they felt really cheap in quality. The locking tuners worked perfectly. The flared strap buttons grew on me quickly and I dig em' now. Plays great with high gain/distortion. Definitely an LP for fast metal playing. Shes's a keeper. Docked a star as the case is not the greatest quality

Best Les Paul

I just got this for Christmas, but had the 7 string version for over a year. I knew I had to have the 6 string as well. I love the way this guitar looks, plays, and the tone capabilities are unmatched. Seriously considering putting these pickups in the rest of my 6 strings, with the exception of my Dime ML. The dimebucker is an awesome passive pickup. Anyway, if you're on the fence, just buy it. If you regret this purchase, I don't know what will make you happy.

Buy it

I own 7 guitars ranging from 750 to 2000 bucks. This guitar sounds looks and plays like a 2000 dollar guitar. Idk how epiphone is pulling this off. I own a couple of gibsons and this is just as good if not better as far as metal goes. I'm considering buying the black one as well. Shame on me.
