A No-hassle Way to Add Percussion to Your Kit

The Latin Percussion Percussion Claw lets you comfortably mount cowbells, tambourines, Jam Blocks, or other percussion instruments to your hoop-tensioned drum. Thanks to the rubber-lined attachment grip, you'll notice remarkably little vibration transfers through the Percussion Claw, yet it stays firmly attached to the rim of your drum. Another thing Sweetwater drummers really appreciate about the LP Percussion Claw is the ratcheting mechanism that keeps your percussion instruments from freely rotating, and its Z rod that makes positioning your gear easy.

Latin Percussion Percussion Claw Features:
  • A fast and easy way to mount a percussion instruments to the rim of your drum
  • Attaches comfortably to the rim of your snare, tom, conga, or other hoop-tensioned drum
  • Rubber-lined attachment claw provides a rock-solid grip while minimizing vibration transfer
  • Z rod percussion arm lets you easily mount cowbells, tambourines, Jam Blocks, and more
  • Ratcheting mechanism keeps mounted percussion from freely rotating

Quality
This clamp is great but it was very hard to clamp to my congas. I also put my cow bell on it

yeah, no
Everyone knows how an LP claw works. You clamp it to the rim with one knob and tighten down the other to position whatever it is you're positioning. And typically, in my experience, once the knobs are tightened they pretty much stay in position. But now here's LPs new "ratchet system" which means that even after you've tightened everything fully, the joint between the two sections STILL ROTATES. Granted, there's a bit of a ratchet-y feel but you can, with little effort, turn the mounted post 180 degrees. This is hardly an optimum situation for something that is meant to hold a percussion instrument.
In fact it's completely useless. I am absolutely flummoxed that LP would design this so poorly. I cannot imagine what they were thinking. Really super disappointed.
Percussion Claw
Visually it looks like a good idea but try to use it and you will find it very difficult. The moving parts do not fit together properly causing it very difficult to turn the adjustment knob. I had to file off the flash from the aluminum casting before the thing would half way work. Good idea but POOR QUALITY.
