Pin Down Premium Tone with Martin’s Liquidmetal Hardware

Premium bridge pins like Martin’s Luxe Liquidmetal set are a convenient way to enhance acoustic guitars or even breathe old life into a beloved instrument held back by haggard hardware. These bridge pins are made from Liquidmetal, a zirconium alloy that reflects string energy instead of absorbing it. Technically speaking, Liquidmetal’s reflective characteristics let string vibrations resonate more fully with enhanced volume, sustain, and dynamic response. Because it restores natural vibrations rather than absorbing them like plastic pins, Luxe Liquidmetal also lets tonewood nuances shine through clearly. Beyond tone, Sweetwater guitarists are equally impressed with these pins’ sturdiness. Durable alloy construction means they outlast plastic and bone alternatives. A sound investment that sounds incredible? That’s a win-win for all players!

Martin Luxe Liquidmetal Bridge Pin Set Features:

  • Premium alloy bridge pins enhance your guitar’s resonance, sustain, and volume
  • Made from unique Liquidmetal alloy
  • Reflects string vibrations without absorbing critical sonic energy
  • Outlasts plastic pins with impressive lifespan and durability

Holy cuss...
I wasn't convinced these would make a huge difference, but they did. With new strings and some back and forth between these liquid metal pins and the stock ones that came in my Martin OM 28, the new ones gave the guitar a clearer, louder, more full bodied sound. 100% recommend thesem

They work as advertised
I purchased these for my Custom Shop Martin D-28. My take is twofold. 1. The pins themselves to appear to transmit vibrations more effectively. 2. The setup from the martin factory with the plastic pins is suboptimal. Ideally strings would slide into slotted bridges like the old historic Martins. But, if you don't have a slotted bridge, I guess this is the next best thing. Use a hard material that really makes good contact between the string and the pin hole. The fact that this specific hard material is better than others seems to do the trick. I used these on a guitar with ramped string slots that uses slotted pins.

These work
I just put these on my 2019 Martin D-35 reimagined and they do exactly what they say. The guitar is louder and the sustain has increased to the point where I have to be more aware of muting open strings. The low end is just so much deeper and more consistent that it sounds like there is an extra-low string. When I strum, it sounds like a 12 string guitar. The barre chords chime more like a D-45 now and are easier to cross pick as a result. All this for $... (bone color)is a worthwhile improvement on an already amazing sounding guitar in my opinion.
