Vibration-defeating Dual-Force technology
At the core of the LFE15 lies Barefoot Sound’s Dual-Force technology — an innovative system that utterly defeats cabinet vibrations. How does it work? The LFE15’s 15-inch drivers are first placed on opposing sides of the cabinet and then locked together via their motors. Thus, when one speaker’s driver exerts force in one direction, the other driver equally opposes that movement with a matching force. Barefoot Sound tells Sweetwater that this force cancellation design dramatically cuts down on the distortion and coloration so commonly caused by cabinet vibrations, as the LFE15’s unique Dual-Force driver arrangement defeats vibrations before they can even begin.

Two modes to adjust your sound
While the LFE15 is geared toward low-frequency effects channels within state-of-the-art immersive audio setups, this sub features two modes for additional flexibility. Moreover, you also get a +10dB gain control that can be used in both modes to elevate headroom.
- Boost mode: In contrast to typical 2.1 crossovers, Boost mode utilizes a 1st-order minimum phase lowpass filter to extend bass response within stereo setups.
- LFE mode: Perfect for elevating the low-frequency effects channel in your surround system, this mode activates a 4th-order lowpass filter with a selectable setting of either 80Hz or 120Hz.
