Built for Extreme Underground Metal

Thanks to its menacing design, the ESP EC-Black Metal looks as sinister as it sounds. It features an all-black finish, components, and hardware, and its Macassar ebony fingerboard boasts no inlays. In fact, the only thing preventing the EC-Black Metal from disappearing into blackness is a series of glow-in-the-dark side markers. As for sound, this axe was built for extreme underground metal. A Seymour Duncan Black Winter bridge humbucker spews out grinding cacophony like nothing you've heard before, while a set neck gives you long-lasting sustain and excellent articulation. And the EC-Black Metal is built to last, sharing the same quality construction as ESP's LTD Deluxe 1000 series.

Seymour Duncan Black Winter humbucker delivers grime and grind

Seymour Duncan characterizes their Black Winter humbucker as being "extreme as the Scandinavian winter." The guitarists here at Sweetwater find that to be an apt description. Tailor-made for black metal, death metal — basically any extreme subgenre of metal — this pickup is jam-packed with grime and grind, yielding crushing distortion, punishing mids, and aggressive saturation. The EC-Black Metal's Black Winter bridge humbucker is mounted directly to the guitar’s body to increase its presence and resonance.

ESP's Eclipse body style blends classic looks with modern performance

Nothing screams hard rock like ESP's timeless Eclipse body style. The extra mass of this single-cutaway design gives the EC-Black Metal truly epic sustain, whereas its slightly arched top provides you with comfortable hand positioning, no matter your picking style. Add to that a super-sharp cutaway, which gives you open access to the EC-Black Metal's upper frets, and you're totally ready to shred.

ESP LTD — a huge value with ESP quality

ESP LTD guitars were created to bring a more affordable version of the classic designs and quality of ESP guitars to a new market. The entire ESP LTD line of instruments features premium tonewoods, quality pickups, and solid hardware for a lifetime of use. An exacting eye for detail and quality mean that every instrument is ready to rock when it leaves the factory. An impressive list of signature guitars by some of today's biggest guitar heroes shows the popularity and respect held by ESP LTD. Reviews

ESP Black Metal
A great guitar, plays great has plenty of power. Nice sound. Simplicity and makes a hell of a sound.I had purchased in July of 2023 and did not get until March of 2024. A long wait. But Sweetwater and Connor made some great things happen. Nice discount and absolutely went the extra mile for me. This guitar has great craftsmanship and the finish is hard to get done right and I can assure you that this guitar is well done. Plays incredible for the price. Get it while you can. It's a great guitar to have in the arsenal.
Music background: Backyard player.
Incredible deal for an absolute ripper.
Great fit and finish and the blackened winter pickup is killer.
Black Metal machine with no frills.
Great guitar!
I thought about buying this guitar for a long time before finally pulling the trigger but now that I have it I couldn't be happier with it! It's beautiful to look at - the on line pictures really don't do it justice - the build quality is top notch and it's a dream to play. Top marks all around! It's now my favorite guitar - beating out my SG '61, Les Paul Studio and two Strats. I really love it!
Killer guitar
Great quality components (except for the nut, I had a bone nut put in). Sounds like it has active pickups even though it is a passive guitar. It has a tinny "new string" sound that I absolutely love. Great for heavy riffs. Good action makes playing solos accessible, but maybe not super shredder tapping stuff. This is my go-to metal guitar.
Music background: 20 years playing guitar
Solidddd
Wow! Just kinda bought this on a whim because i loved the look but it is now my favorite guitar. it's the easiest guitar i own to play, and i can't figure out why, it just is. sits nicely on a strap, lightweight at 7lbs. My only change was changing the pickup to a x2n
