Ready to Generate Inspiration On Demand

Combining powerful sequencing abilities with a 37-key, velocity-sensitive keybed with aftertouch, the Arturia KeyStep Pro may be the controller and sequencer you've been waiting for. Equipped with USB for use with your software instruments, MIDI for your hardware synths, and CV/Gate/Mod outputs for Eurorack modular synthesizers, there is little the KeyStep Pro cannot control. And with its four-track polyphonic sequencer, dedicated 16-track drum sequencer, and advanced functions like randomization, arpeggiation, and chord modes, it's clear the KeyStep Pro is definitely not your average keyboard controller. Whether you perform electronic music onstage or have a wide range of gear in need of a comprehensive controller, you'll be impressed with the Arturia KeyStep Pro controller and sequencer.

Comprehensive controller and sequencer for modern producers

The Arturia KeyStep Pro keyboard controller gives you a ton of creative potential, and you'll find yourself turning to your computer and mouse less and less. Four tracks of polyphonic step sequencing allow you to compose chord progressions and melodies right from your instrument, while the dedicated 16-track drum sequencer handles rhythm duties. You can adjust tempo and swing directly from the KeyStep Pro, and there's even a built-in metronome with a speaker — that means you can improvise and experiment without messing with the click track in your DAW. In other words, the KeyStep Pro is a master controller that handles more like a dedicated instrument.

Ditch your DAW on stage

If you perform electronic music on stage, you know the apprehensive feeling when you're setting up your DAW for stage performance. The KeyStep Pro may allow you to ditch your DAW on stage entirely, especially with its solo metronome output — you can send that to your drummer for use as a click track. You have the ability to inject randomness in your sequences for sonic variety, adding a ton of interest to sequences that may otherwise sound repetitive. And when it comes to playing parts in real time, the KeyStep Pro feels responsive and expressive.

Masterful control over your hardware collection

Even if you rarely use a DAW for production, the Arturia KeyStep Pro is a smart way to tie your hardware collection together. On top of dual MIDI outputs for synthesizers, drum machines, and MIDI-equipped effects, the KeyStep Pro is well-equipped for Eurorack and semi-modular synthesizers. In addition to its configurable outputs for CV (with support for polyphonic CV operation), Gate, Mod, and Clock Reset signals, you also have eight dedicated drum gate outputs to control multiple modules easily. So no matter what combination of hardware (and software) you're using, Sweetwater is sure you can customize the Arturia KeyStep Pro to operate however you need it to.

Arturia KeyStep Pro Features:

  • 37-key controller keyboard with velocity-sensitive keys and aftertouch
  • Ready to control software instruments via USB
  • Control hardware via MIDI or Eurorack/semi-modular gear via configurable CV/Gate/Mod outputs
  • Big creative potential from onboard four-track polyphonic step sequencer and dedicated 16-part drum sequencer
  • Vivid OLED screen and lots of LEDs for easy visual navigation
  • Track controls and touch strip for plenty of hands-on control
  • Chord Mode makes it fast and easy to explore multiple chord voicings
  • Built-in metronome with dedicated click output so you can send a click to your drummer, other gear, or wherever
  • Well equipped for both stage and studio applications

Reviews

meets the expectations of quality device from Arturia
KeyStep Pro was my second Arturia device purchase; I also own the Polybrute 6. I picked the Keystep Pro to use as a sequencer for my modular, keyboard, and drum synths. The layout of the sequencer is thought out well, the keys are compact, the overall built quality of the device feels premium for the asking price. It was designed for use in a live performance setting, so the access to controls and the workflow are as immediate as one could wish.

For new users, I recommend setting MIDI IN and OUT on a track in Keystep Pro to different channels to avoid a MIDI loop. A free program such as "MidiView" will allow you to monitor MIDI information in real time, so that you can see the MIDI information coming from the sequencer, in case there is any need for troubleshooting.

Keep in mind that no device is perfect for all - one must pick what works for their needs and workflow. That being said, the Keystep Pro and Beatstep are the top-selling sequencers on the market today, and one hopes Arturia will keep the firmware updates coming for the Keystep Pro user base.
Keystep Pro
This keyboard controller is phenomenal with four tracks of sequences and CV inputs makes this the ultimate midi interface for all your gear.
do it
glad i went with the pro!! don't skimp now....you'll only regret it and upgrade later anyways!!!
A ton of fun!
I've had mine for about a week now and it is a lot of fun. I'm still getting the hang of how deep this thing can go, but once you get it set up in your favorite DAW, it's insane how much fun it can be. Props to Arturia for making a solid music-making tool.
A step above
I've recently started using the Arturia KeyStep Pro 37-key Controller & Sequencer.
It is of excellent quality, with a natural feeling keyboard. Using the CV (control voltages), MIDI, or USB, you can literally connect to anything and make music. The sequencers are easy to use with four separate areas of play. As with all things Arturia, excellence shines through in everything. I bought the smaller Arturia Keystep Controller & Sequencer first. I was impressed with the ease of use and decided to buy the larger, more full-featured Arturia KeyStep Pro 37-key Controller & Sequencer.
Sold at a great price by the awesome folks at Sweetwater.
No Regrets.
