Command the Stage

The Jackson Pro Series King V solidbody electric guitar is primed for modern hard rock and metal. The guitar’s fast-playing maple neck boasts a compound-radius ebony fingerboard that enhances comfort and speed. A beveled mahogany body offers up thick, crunchy sound with plenty of bite. Two Seymour Duncan Distortion humbuckers push plenty of punishing power through your rig. You’ll also appreciate the Pro Series King V’s ultra-stable Floyd Rose tremolo. Create your own tonal fireworks with the Jackson Pro Series King V.

Powerful and flexible electronics

The Pro Series King V electric guitar’s muscle comes from a pair of Seymour Duncan Distortion humbucking pickups. In the neck you’ll find the vintage-voiced ’59 model. This lower-output pickup delivers warm lows and a bell-like top end that works equally well with clean and high-gain tones. The JB humbucker in the bridge position — a favorite of many Sweetwater employees — is a high-output pickup with a midrange bump that helps cut through a lot of distortion and a loud band with ease.

Neck-through design for monumental sustain

The Jackson Pro Series King V owes its great tone and sustain in part to something you won’t even notice at first glance: a neck-through-body design. The 1-piece through-body maple neck doesn’t just join the body; it’s actually part of the body. Because this allows Jackson to mount the bridge and pickups directly to the same piece of wood as the neck, this configuration contributes to sustain in a big way. Add in the beveled mahogany wings, and you have a ferocious-sounding instrument that balances aggressive cut with warm punch.

Optimized fretboard provides comfort and serious speed

Not many necks play faster than the Jackson Pro Series King V's ebony fretboard with 12"–16" compound radius —and not much! The compound-radius fretboard makes it easier to form chords close to the nut and is flatter up the neck for faster lead lines. Down low, your fretting hand will appreciate the 12" radius that keeps things nice and comfortable for natural, relaxed chord work. Up top, a 16" radius lays it all out flat for effortless, low-action, high-speed runs with monumental string bends with no chance of fretting out. In other words, it’s effortless to switch between rhythm and lead playing on the Pro Series King V.

Yep, it shreds.

I had read some negative things from the net on guitars made in Indonesia. I just want to say that mine came in perfect condition. Nothing was wrong with it at all. Absolutely perfect. Everything was as expected.

I don't own this guitar(yet), just a comment.

I like that they leave the back of the neck unfinished, but aesthetically I would love to see that back neck at least stained black or darkened somehow while keeping the purpose of the bare neck to a degree.

My kinda guitar !!!!

First of all I wanna thank Ben for calling me about this guitar as I preordered it. As soon as it came from the factory it came straight to my house !!!! In tune straight out of the box! The guitar is nicely set up and I couldn't find anything wrong with it.
Thanks again to Ben and Sweetwater for an awesome guitar! Never gonna order from any other website again.

Great

Will (hopefully) never get rid of this guitar. I surprisingly like the V shape. Plays great, great electronics, great hardware. Could stay in tune a LITTLE better. But I wouldn't let it deter me. Love playing this guitar. Feels much nicer to play, sounds better than my other (comparable) guitars, and great hardware to boot.

Surprisingly excellent!

This guitar really surprised me! My experience with Indonesian guitars has not been great up to this point, but this guitar changes that. The neck is excellent. One of the most comfortable necks I have played. I love the compound radius. It gives a nice balance across the fretboard. I have owned some neck throughs with and without Floyd's from other companies, and have had issues with sustain and resonance in the guitar in the past, but this one sustains really well. Notes will hang out for a long time...longer than any one could really ever need. Very loud acoustically. Has a nice fat, chunky, slightly scooped sound with the JB. I swapped the pickups for Fishman Fluence Moderns. I am not a huge JB pickup fan. The guitar is a nice balanced weight, not too heavy, not light enough to feel like a toy. No neck dive, either.

I was honestly not expecting much from this guitar, but its a keeper, for sure. Sounds great, plays great, really comfortable the way it sits while standing. Just overall really happy with this thing.
