Reviews

Works perfectly fine....
With a small caveat.

One reviewer states his microphone clip threaded cavity is too shallow. This is probably true for many mic clips—mine are mostly Shure, and indeed that is the case here. One star seems pretty harsh for such a minor shortcoming, however.

The issue is easily remedied with the addition of a 1" deep male-to-female 5/8" connecter or extender—shown in one of the photos. Or, use a female-female 5/8" coupling adapter and a male 5/8" coupling adapter. Or a short extender—several possibilities. Some brand mic clips may have deeper threading cavities (K&M?), so you may be good with one of those.

Bottom line, I needed 3-ft spacing to avoid phasing issues between mics, and this is a reasonably low-cost way to achieve that. I'm happy.
Music background: Why am I doing this?
DON'T BUY THIS
Don't buy this piece of junk. The metal bar is fine, but the mic clip screws rely on pulling the clip down against the metal bar to secure it. However, all of the threading on my mic clips are too shallow to allow for this, so the clips are just loose.

I was originally looking for a longer bar than this one, but this bar was the closest option. Since no other option exists I will make another recommendation. Simply go to home improvement store and get a 4' angled aluminum bar. This can be 1/8" or 1/4" this depending on your preference. Simply measure and drill some appropriately sized holes where you want the mic clips as well as a hole to mount to a stand. You'll need to get a wing nut (or similar) to connect the the stand. If you want to get fancy you can use a jig saw to cut sliding positions. Then, get some plastic knobs to hold the mic clips on. I used 3/8" threading on the knobs as what is what the clips I want to use have but can easily be fit to 5/8' with an adapter. After that you'll have a better product than this one from K&M and the parts will cost less than half. Just an hour of your time (or less if your good with tools) to put together.
