Single ceramic humbucker delivers the goods

Sometimes, all it takes is a single humbucker to pump out thunderous sounds that sit comfortably in a mix. Squier utilized this straightforward approach while constructing the Affinity Series Jaguar Bass H, loading it with a single ceramic humbucker that bellows when pushed to the limit and backs off wonderfully when playing softly. Sweetwater players can't get enough of this pickup's full-bodied sound and clarity. It works exceptionally well for genres of all kinds, making the Affinity Series Jaguar Bass H a fantastic beginner bass and a formidable backup for gigging musicians.

Fast, comfortable neck with a medium scale length

The neck on Squier's Affinity Series Jaguar Bass H is made from solid maple with a sleek Indian laurel fingerboard, tailor-made for fast playability and stellar response. Its 20 medium jumbo frets provide you with added playing comfort, keeping hand and finger fatigue at bay and producing a wonderful tone. Best of all, its 32-inch scale length makes it a breeze for guitarists to transition to bass without overstretching their fingers. Meanwhile, it's also easier for beginners and players with smaller hands to adapt to the neck.

Squier Affinity Series Jaguar Bass H Features:

  • Fender quality with great Squier value
  • Single ceramic humbucker gives you powerful bass tones with plenty of versatility
  • Volume control and master tone control let you dial in your own sound
  • Fast-playing maple neck with 20 medium jumbo frets and Indian laurel fingerboard

Reviews

Don't underestimate the Affinity line
I got the demo model of this and it's just a great bass. Quality on the Affinity line is really more than one would expect. The neck feels great. I took some very high grit sand paper to it and then oiled it up to get it to more to my liking.

The tuners and controls are very good. The finish on the body and headstock is excellent.

This is going to be a rare one to find in the next few years with the color AND matching headstock. Get one while you can.

Great Bass, Minor Flaws
A solid purchase. It didn't come with the skunk stripe on the neck, which I'm okay with because many reviews I've read said you can feel it while playing. So problem eliminated. The corner of the pickup cover is slightly dented, that also doesn't bother me much. The other negative is the neck dive is pretty bad, even after I put the high mass bridge on. Besides those 2 issues it plays really well, has smooth fret ends, low action, no fret buzz, and sounds great. I honestly couldn't be much happier with a sub $ bass
What? No skunk stripe.
Not having a skunk stripe is no big deal. None the less the quality is there, not some empty promise. It reminds me of my Fender Nashville Deluxe, however it has the infamous skunk stripe. I read hardly any negative reviews on the Fender Nashville, and this is true for the Jaguar bass, by Squire too. The finish is smooth sans flaws. It reminds me of strawberry ice-cream. The neck is smooth and the frets are fine, the tuning gears are rather divine as well. The matte finish on the neck works well for effortless playing. Overall it is an excellent choice for any musician, and their friend.

Pretty good for the cost
1st of all the scale difference is a lot more than I thought, but I do enjoy playing this now. I always planned on changing the pickup to a P bass set. Needed a little adjusting out of the box but it plays really well. The humbucker tone is less than desirable for me. It's warm and has a slight fuzz when really digging into the strings. The strap button on top was loose/stripped but changed of for strap locks so that isn't horrible. Image shows or next to my MH Jag to show size comparison
