A Powerhouse Pedalboard Synthesizer

Transform your guitar into a powerful synth with the Enzo multi-voice instrument synthesizer from Meris. Enzo offers up three awesome synth modes: monosynth, polysynth, and arpeggiated synth. Made for fat bass lines and screaming leads, monosynth mode has a straight-ahead forcefulness reminiscent of vintage analog synths. Ideal for lush textured pads and thick stabs, polysynth mode translates complex chords into polyphonic synth emanations. Likewise, in arpeggiated synth mode, you can generate Tangerine Dream–style ostinatos by simply strumming a chord. If you’re a guitar player enticed by the world of synthesizers, then Enzo serves up a full palette of synth tones, from gritty to shimmering and everything between.

Serious sound shaping for ultimate synth tone

To sculpt your sound, Enzo includes a slew of classic synth features, including a multimode resonant filter, envelope generators, ring modulator, tunable portamento, and sustain control. Additionally, Enzo comes with a dedicated modulated tap delay with a 2-stage level control for creating droning polyrhythmic echoes or chorus-like flutter and warble. Guitarists at Sweetwater especially enjoy Enzo’s plentiful options for external controls, which allow you to choose between connecting the Enzo to MIDI, a preset switch, a tap switch, or an expression pedal.

Look for subtle settings
This is a great pedal for anyone who likes synth sounds. I tend to use these sounds on the more subtle settings and especially the "dry" channel. When I use the "synth" channels I look for ways to either blend it with reverbs or loop them on a separate loop from my drier sound. I would also recommend looking at the Meris video on presets as a way of getting used to it. It is worth the purchase 100% if you are willing to take some time with it.

Meris Enzo
Super cool synth guitar pedal with many, many tweekable parameters to help create sonic landscapes.

A dreamy, ambient, awesome, and deep pedal
There is so much sonic bliss here it is hard to describe. It tracks superbly well on note changes, which is a big deal for me as a guitarist. Somehow this pedal is able to both add awesome synth sounds to a guitar (or other instrument for that matter), yet still manages to "stay out of the way" and allow my guitar to shine through enough in the mix...it's hard to describe exactly how well this pedal is able to pull this off.

I wish accessing the Alt functions was easier overall, but this can be remedied with a midi control pedal. I already know I'll be investing in a midi control pedal to access presets on the fly. Apparently this pedal has some stock presets built-in that are only accessible via midi.

Nonetheless, this is an exciting pedal to use and hear. I've had many of the EHX and Earthquaker pedals that perform superb synth functions, but the Enzo outperforms them all and has a higher quality sound to it. Highly recommended!

Meris Synth pedal
Absolutely fantastic.

Incredible sounds, but...
If you're reading this, you know what this pedal is capable of doing. It sounds great. The construction is great. That said there are some serious considerations to make here if you want to maximize its possibilities.

1. The UI on Meris pedals is atrocious. I have the Enzo and the Hedra. Don't get me wrong, I love them both. But making them usable and getting new sounds isn't simple. Many will love the experience of tweaking knobs to figure it out, but it's not the easiest. You will absolutely need to use a favorite switch or MIDI, which can be a huge pain and an added cost.

2. You cannot use the Meris favorite switch with an expression pedal. In my opinion, this is a huge oversight. The way around this is to get the Meris MIDI switch and a MIDI controller with an expression capability, but again, huge pain and you're doubling the cost of your investment there.

All things considered, these aren't huge concessions to make when you're getting something so unique and great sounding. But it's something to be aware of, because if you're using this pedal, you'll want to make use of the presets and use an expression pedal. Hopefully Meris addresses this in their future builds.

Thanks to my salesman Todd Kitchen for all the help.
