Enhanced classic tonewoods
The Cutlass HT features a resonant alder body — the traditional wood choice for the most iconic 3-pickup guitars of decades past. This body delivers the classic character and response players know and love, but with key enhancements. On the playability side, the Cutlass HT features a figured maple neck that's been roasted and polished. Roasted maple yields a more natural feel in the hand and is buffed to perfection using Music Man’s unique finish of gunstock oil and wax. Roasting also removes moisture and sugars from the wood, which means a lighter, more stable guitar that resists climate shifts like a champ. This neck also features a sculpted neck joint for maximum access to upper frets, an ebony fingerboard with 22 frets, and a comfortable 25.5-inch scale with plenty of room for expression.
Active pickups with a Music Man Silent Circuit
The new HT Single-coil pickups are the result of over a decade of proprietary research that’s explored the elusive relationship between pickups and strings. A classic 5-way selector ensures access to a traditional variety of tones, and there’s even a 20dB gain switch built into the Cutlass HT’s push-pull volume knob so you can beef up tones instantly, without any outboard gear that degrades signal clarity.
