Heritage '60s Looks and Hearty Ampeg Bass Tones — to Go!

The 50-watt Rocket Bass RB-110 bass combo delivers classic good looks and timeless Ampeg tones to players on the move. Fans of the 1960s Rocket series of Ampeg amplifiers will especially groove on the RB-110's black diamond wrap and signature sparkle grille cloth. Of course, bassists of all stripes will enjoy taking the renowned Ampeg punch and growl to go with this easy-traveling solution. The Rocket Bass's Legacy preamp, 3-band EQ, and specially voiced ported speaker make it ridiculously easy to achieve monumental bass tones with any instrument in your arsenal. And thanks to a pair of 0dB and -15dB instrument inputs right on the front panel, the RB-110 has no trouble adjusting to hot-wound active humbuckers or passive vintage single-coils. When you're ready to add some grit to rhythms and sustain to leads, the Rocket Bass's SGT (Super Grit Technology) controls dial in a smooth-to-gnarled overdrive that manages to keep fundamentals full while packing on the heat. You'll even find an 1/8-inch aux input and an 1/8-inch headphone output to facilitate silent practice, whether you're jamming along to tracks at home or warming up in the green room pre-show.

The Rocket Bass RB-110's 50 watts and 10-inch ported speaker pack a surprising punch onstage or in a practice space. And while we at Sweetwater feel this combo is more than capable for cafe shows and casual monitoring, if you're using the RB-110 in a full-band or large-venue setting, you'll definitely want to take advantage of its XLR balanced output and send a wet feed to the front of house for greater output. This XLR output is post-EQ and post-volume, too, so it succeeds in capturing the essence of your stage tone going straight into a mixer or recording interface.

Portable size, potent tone

A Legacy preamp and 3-band Ampeg tone stack give the Rocket Bass RB-110 bass combo the punch, power, and growl that Ampeg amps are known for. A specially voiced 10-inch speaker succeeds in delivering the goods for practice, tracking, and travel. Need a meatier tone? The Rocket Bass's SGT controls dial up the heat in a hurry. No matter what style of music you play, there are buckets of big-sounding tones waiting to be discovered in the Ampeg RB-110.

Vintage 1960s Ampeg visuals

Ampeg holds claim to some of the most recorded and toured-with bass amplifiers of all time. The Rocket Bass RB-110 combo amp looks back to Rocket amplifiers of the 1960s for its Atomic Age visual cues while focusing forward to bring in-demand bass features to a lightweight design. Whether you're just starting out or you're a van-seasoned veteran, bass players at Sweetwater agree: there's loads to love about the Ampeg Rocket Bass RB-110 bass combo.

The RB-110 steps up from the smaller RB-108 with a specially voiced 10-inch speaker and a balanced XLR output for pro stage and studio use.

'LITE' Middle/ Wait

Simply 1st round knockout. Compliments & accolades;for build quality, every fastener very-tight. Wood joints sealed, covered very well. Attention to details well above low-mid price tier. My dad wood be proud. Same goes 4 me ORANGE 50watt 1 by 10 bass combo, although Oranges' wait is twice that of the AMPEG. RB 1 by 10 is exactly watt eye want. A softer delivery. Know better weigh 2 say it actually. Orange/SHAOLIN. Ampeg/TaiChi. With YAMAHA controlling, Ampeg electronics hopefully won't be the weakness. The structural quality as stated is superb! Tonal flexibility exceeds my abilities, yet that's desirable. Grill Velcro to access the speaker is super tight, the entire front grill needs pliers to grabs the 2 supplied tabs, to apply enough tugg5 force to break the velcro hold! Love-it! So much good. Thanks to Mr. Wildman, the warehouse-crew, use guys in customer service, Sweetwater amen.

Wear dew eye star;
6 days/7.5 hour's: Order-Arrival. Indiana to MI. Shipping box punctuated; contents fine. FedEx? Compared 2 my Orange 50watt combo; build quality- both excellent! Know bull. Tone character- Ampeg/think, BMW R-100RT. Orange/think, H-D Super-Glide. Arrive "in sryle" both combos. Ampeg has 10 minutes on speakers cone, Orange has maybe 40 minutes. The circuitry who the hell nose, I am knot qualified 2 examine layouts, component makers or the chosen values so, watt I do see is exquisite detail in construction of both cabinets. I'm 66. Me dad was an auto-body /"Bumper" and he taught us perfect is just what is expected. Both companies give us consumers this "excellence". I'm very content saying my Ampeg buying journey likely may continue jest cause I dig stuff. My Detroit Apartment (neighbors) hour glad I didn't opt 4 the one-15, this one-10 is tone-heaven: no disrespect to my Savior JESUS. Peabass 40-95 Ernie-Ball Cobalt "flats"!

Ideal practice amp.
Really like the Ampeg's response. Solid sound...high end or low. The price was very good. Hope to match it up with an Ampeg cabinet.

Fantastic tone in a lightweight package
The amplifier sounds fantastic, both the clean channel and SGT have great tone. I was impressed at how light the whole cabinet is, and at how loud it can get. I suspect it will hold its own in a jam session, or even at a small gig. The SGT circuit on this can be adjusted to very low, which gives a little warmth and fuzz, or it can be cranked up to full, or dialed in somewhere in the middle.

Aux input and headphone jack are nice features to have, however be aware that the aux input volume is not controlled at all by the master volume, so check the volume on whatever device you connect. It will be pretty loud if you turn it up full.
Solid deal for the price
I knew I was taking a bit of a gamble since this is such a new product, but it was right in my budget so I went for it.

This is a capable little amp, looks pretty good in person too. The tone with eq set to noon is spot on and gets better with tweaks. I gave it a run through with all my toys, and it definitely does the job of a portable/bedroom amp well.

The SGT distortion circuit is very clean, I get virtually no hum/buzz/static with it cranked to 11 at respectable volumes. It sounds pretty decent and you can really fuzz your tone out. If you play any stoner/doom genre you'll love it. But you can dial it back just to add a little bit of sparkle.

I run my darkglass b7k ultra through this amp, which to no surprise sounds a fair margin better(expected for a pedal nearly twice the price of this amp) but the sgt will be nice for situations when I don't have the pedal available.

All in all, if you a beginner or just looking for a small portable practice amp, look no further, this is it chief.
