Japanese-built Alexi Laiho Signature
Alexi Laiho pushed the boundaries of death metal with unrivaled virtuosic melodicism. The ESP E-II Alexi Ripped is the culmination of the late guitar legend's artistic vision. This Japanese-built solidbody electric guitar is based on one of Lex's final designs, and it's something that — prior to his untimely passing — the Children of Bodom frontman was proud of and eager to unleash. The E-II Alexi Ripped features an aggressive, offset "V"-shaped body, decked out in a Purple Fade Satin finish with "ripped" pinstripes. A set of passive EMG pickups, along with an active preamp circuit, arm this metal-ready axe for roughed-up mayhem. Neck-thru-body construction ensures maximum resonance and sustain. You also get a comfortable 3-piece maple neck that's capped by a fast-playing 24-fret ebony fingerboard, plus a Floyd Rose Original tremolo for rock-solid twisting, bending, and dive-bombing and super-stable Gotoh locking tuners. The E-II Alexi Ripped is topped off with head-turning chrome hardware, sawtooth fingerboard inlays, and glow-in-the-dark side markers.
Top-shelf tonewoods deliver superior sound
Lex wasn't fooling around when he designed the E-II Alexi Ripped. He started with a distinctive offset "V"-shaped body built from alder. The balanced-sounding resonance of alder is at the center of some of the most legendary rock guitar tones of all time. But it doesn't stop there. The alder features an eye-grabbing Purple Fade Satin finish with "ripped" pinstripes. The E-II Alexi Ripped's 3-piece, Thin "U"-shaped maple neck is topped with a 24-fret ebony fingerboard — scalloped from frets 19–24 — which results in a smooth-playing guitar with plenty of snap.
Screaming tone from EMG pickups
Alexi Laiho favored a single EMG Hz F-H2 humbucking pickup. The ESP E-II Alexi Ripped follows suit, while also providing you with a few extra surprises. The aforementioned Hz F-H2 delivers killer high-gain tones with amazing clarity. Every note you play will sing out and be heard. There's no mush with this pickup — just solid tone. You also get an EMG Hz S2, a stacked single-coil pickup churns out traditional S-style tones by the truckload. If you ever saw Alexi play, then you know that he executed every note cleanly and with focus. That's why this solidbody electric guitar includes an ESP MM-04 preamp circuit with adjustable EQ settings and up to +18dB of boost. No matter how fast and furious you play, the E-II Alexi Ripped will deliver each note with the force of a triple-corpse hammerblow.
High-end hardware unleashes maximum performance
For superior stability, the E-II Alexi Ripped comes equipped with a double-locking Floyd Rose Original tremolo system and Gotoh locking tuners. With this tremolo, you can twinge n' turn all you want, and never worry about pulling your tuning out of whack. And these tuners eliminate string slippage while making string changes a snap. You can expect both rock-solid reliability and tight response when you play the E-II Alexi Ripped.
