Does the job...

It's a little hard to get overly excited about something like a practice pad stand. It does the job.

Music background: nearly 40 years of drums

Does The Job For Which It's Intended

Solid, lightweight stand provides a stable rigid surface for practice pads 6"-10" in diameter. The unit has two extendable shaft segments for flexibility in setting the desired height. The threaded bolt is part of the flat support bracket. So, this should not be used as a cymbal stand (despite the fact that the threading is 8mm).

Bottom line: This stand makes practicing more convenient and enjoyable. Glad I bought it.

the stand is fine BUT..

The " stand " part of this is fine for the money, but I bought it to use as a roto tom stand. The 90 degree bend mounting bracket on top is poorly designed and made. The bolt is very short and is welded in place. The angle pivot is a cheap rivet instead of a bolt and would have to be drilled out to change to a more durable bolt. I don't understand why this item was made this was , as doing it right would have been cheaper and easier.

Poor Quality - Broke in a few months

The quality of the stand is pretty bad. The top mount isn't flat, and there is a part of the metal that sticks out and scratches the underside of my practice pad. The stand screw mount also stripped, so I can't even use it at the height I want anymore.
