Signature 6-string of Intervals' Mastermind

For over a decade, Aaron Marshall has been pushing the boundaries of progressive metal with his project Intervals. Considering that the driving force of the band is his mixture of technical-meets-tasteful guitar mastery, it comes as no surprise that the Schecter Aaron Marshall AM-6 electric guitar is the perfect blend of performance, playability, and tone! This instrument begins with a lightweight basswood body that’s loaded with Equinox and Solstice humbuckers, crafted by Schecter USA to effortlessly tackle everything from ultra-high gain chug to atmospheric clean tones. Next, the wenge neck’s thin “C”-shape is sure to please any technically inclined player, while the jumbo stainless steel frets and the compound 12- to 16-inch radius make everything from rapid-fire arpeggios to massive multi-step bends a breeze. Finally, a Gotoh vintage 2-point tremolo allows you to dive-bomb to your heart’s content, while the Hipshot Grip-Lock tuners ensure maximum stability.

World-class hardware

From subtle vibrato to shrieking dive-bombs, the Schecter Aaron Marshall AM-6’s Gotoh vintage tremolo is a favorite among Sweetwater guitarists for its exceptional combination of reliability and versatility. Its 2-point design is about as time-tested as tremolo units get, and when set up correctly, it retains your tuning remarkably well. Add the top-of-the-line Hipshot Grip-Lock tuners, and the Aaron Marshall AM-6 can handle even the most furious playing without batting an eye.

Fast-playing thin "C" neck

As an instrumental project, Aaron’s fleet-fingered playing is often the star of the show, dazzling listeners with his sheer technical wizardry. To facilitate these impressive chops, the Aaron Marshall AM-6’s neck is loaded with just about every high-performance improvement in the book! This neck starts with a rock-solid piece of quarter-sawn wenge, carved into the classic thin “C shape that so many shredders and virtuosic players have come to prefer for its fast feel. Next, the Macassar ebony fingerboard boasts a 12–16-inch compound radius that optimizes your setup from the first fret all the way to the 24th. Lastly, the jumbo stainless steel frets provide a slick surface with plenty of meat to enable easy bends — all while being all but impervious to fret wear!

Schecter USA Equinox and Solstice humbuckers

Any fan of Aaron’s fingerboard virtuosity is keenly aware of how many tones his progressive metal virtuosity covers — often within a single song! Low-tuned chug, saturated lyrical leads, ultra-clean rapid-fire arpeggios: it’s a tall task for any set of pickups to cover. To meet his exacting needs, the Schecter Aaron Marshall AM-6 is loaded with a pair of pickups built by Schecter USA, including a Solstice humbucker in the bridge and an Equinox humbucker in the neck. Moreover, a 5-way switch grants you access to plenty of unique in-between tones, making this 6-string an absolute titan of versatility.

Schecter Aaron Marshall AM-6 Electric Guitar Features:

  • Lightweight basswood body
  • Quarter-sawn wenge neck in a fast-playing thin “C” profile
  • Gorgeous Macassar ebony fingerboard
  • 24 jumbo stainless steel frets are highly resistant to play wear
  • Compound 12–16-inch radius facilitates easy playing across the entire board
  • Schecter USA Solstice and Equinox humbuckers effortlessly cover everything from low-tuned chug to sparkling and atmospheric clean tones

This guitar pisses me off

It pisses me off in the best way considering the fact that my main guitar is an EBMM JP6 and I've come to prefer this juuuust a little bit more. Lemme tell you why.

This guitar is PACKED with features that punch above the price tag. Gotoh bridge, stainless steel frets, Hipshot locking tuners, Graphtech tusq XL nut, basswood body, LUMINLAY SIDE DOTS. Why doesn't Ernie Ball do this? And these suckers are HUGE too. I've had a few guitars with Luminlays and they've always been the white/black outside retainer with the illuminative material in the center. These are literally all illuminative material, so they're easier to spot and just look fantastic. All killer no filler.

The wenge neck is no slouch either. I've played many many necks and they all seem to fall into either matte, satin, or painted but this one, this one (especially after playing for a few hours) has a lightly waxed feel? It's incredibly comfortable and unlike anything I've ever experienced. Almost reminds me of the feeling of a waxed canvas coat, smooth with the tiniest amount of grit.

Finish is fantastic, only cosmetic downside I was able to spot is the neck wood is very obviously spliced together (this can be seen in even factory shots), but this is an Indonesian guitar, so it's just nitpicky. All of the frets were smooth without issue, no fret sprouting either.

However, I'm not a huge fan of the chrome knobs and selector switch but I'm replacing those with black hardware (which is the case with what I've seen of his USA Signature), but this is an incredibly minor gripe. The first thing I do with almost all guitars I buy is upgrade almost everything, but this caught me off guard. This comes from the factory so feature-rich that all I can really recommend is a solid set of straploks because you don't need anything else other than a case.

This is what I get for sleeping on Schecter, they really nailed the superstrat with this one. Absolutely buy it.

This guitar rules

The bridge is amazing, tremolo works great, tuning stays true, easy to restring. The pickups are nuts, play an intervals riff and you sound exactly like him, from spanky tones, to thick warm tones, and natural cleans. The open pore wenge neck feels like butter. Thickness is perfect. The ebony fretboard and jumbo stainless steel frets feel great. The tuners are so sick, never seen the locking mechanism on tuners, they're great. The shape of the body looks great and feels very ergonomic. I'm pretty sure you can't get this quality at this price point when it comes to new guitars. Never been this stoked on a guitar.

AM6 is Spec'd for Bear! All top end components, great guitar, love it!

I got my AM6 after having it on order for several months, and I have to say it's worth it! It comes standard with all the things you would want, stainless steel frets, ebony fingerboard, Hipshot tuners, Gotoh 510 (with the steel block), Graphtech nut... I got it home, did a string stretch and lube on all the moving parts with some Lizard Spit Graphite, because it's just something I do, and it stays in tune. I'm impressed with the Equinox / Solstice pickups and might have to find them for my other guitars. They provide enough high gain to chug, while still sounding fantastic on cleans. The Hipshot tuners are solid, the switch is solid (doesn't feel like a toy like other imports). The 0 ring knobs are a great feel, and the one thing I was worried about was the Wenge neck vs roasted maple, which I found I love the Wenge, it has great hand feel with no sticky lacquer. It has a great almost waxy feel I like. I'm not sure what it has for a truss rod, but I understand wenge is pretty stable, and it does have the adjustment wheel at the base. Comparing this to my Charvel, there is not much of a comparison (and I do still love my Charvel), it just doesn't compete in the same weight class as my new AM6! Great Job Aaron Marshal and Schecter.

A really fantastic guitar

I started hearing about this guitar in interviews that Aaron Marshall was doing a year ago or more - and it is finally here! This guitar easily competes with guitars twice its price - the specs on this are PHENOMENAL at this price point. The pickups are HOT - I am finding I need to back off on the guitar volume a bit more than I usually do. Both sound great and I particularly like the neck tones. The coil split options offer great flexibility.

The neck is fantastic - thin, smooth and fast. The locking tuners are a great bonus and the Gotoh bridge is goes from nicely subtle to complete dive bomb. So far, it holds tune very well with only minor adjustments needed each playing session.

Put your order in now...these seem to be very popular!

Great Axe!

I was looking for a more modern "prog" style super-strat and was looking at a couple of other brands but decided to try this one. I have another diamond-series schecter and really enjoy using it so I felt confident picking another one up. This guitar for the price is fantastic. The neck and fret work are very well done and feel premium, The hardware is simple and fantastic quality. Playability is really great and I love the sounds you can get out of it. guitar came well setup out of the box, and The QC was great. I've owned guitars that were a lot more than this and honestly its mostly on par with them. The only critiques I have are just the fact that I wish it came with a actual multi-tool and not a bag of loose allen wrenches, and I also wish it came with a gig bag. Other than that it really is a fantastic instrument.
