12-channel Multitrack Recorder and 8-channel Field Mixer
The Sound Devices 833 picks up where last year’s 633 left off. It gives you three additional mic/line preamps (via TA3 inputs) and two additional channels to capture even more sources when you’re on-location shooting or recording. The unit itself shares the same processing architecture as the Scorpio, yet in a much smaller footprint. This makes the 833 fully routable, whereby any physical input can be assigned to any track. Eight channels of Dugan Automixing makes short work of multiple-mic dialog, while 12 record tracks and AES connectivity make the 833 the perfect platform for your existing gear. All the while, redundant recording (1x SSD, 2x SD) and powering options (dual L-mount batteries or locking TA4 adapter) ready this all-weather recorder for any location you might find yourself working in. Remote control via USB MIDI MCU protocol and the SD-Remote app (Android) makes the Sound Devices 833 from Sweetwater as hands-on or hands-off as you need it to be.

Scorpio processing in a compact footprint
The 833 shares the same processing architecture and multiple FPGAs as the Sound Devices Scorpio. This enables you to route any physical input on the 833 to any track you chose. Digital and analog outputs allow this mixer/recorder to complement and streamline your existing workflow. Dante is not included in the 833.

What’s more, redundant powering lets you power the 833 with multiple power sources. When the first power source depletes, the 833 will automatically switch over the next one, and so forth.
