I'm always trying different strings looking for that perfect tone that lasts. Cleartone makes a good string but not worth the money in my opinion. They took about an hour to break in like most good strings. However, they lost their brightness just as quickly as the "uncoated" Gibson Masterbuilt Bronze Phosphor and Gibson J-200 strings that I've been playing for many years. I put a set on my J45 Custom, Songwriter Std Dlx and Taylor 810ce. Same result with all 3 guitars. After about 8-10 hours of play time they started to loose their brightness. I noticed my finger tips turning black yesterday which I've never had with the Gibson strings.

Took off old Elixirs and put on a new set of Cleartones . Digging my Elixirs out of the trash to put them back on !!! KILLED my tone sounded like they were a year old ! Dead, no sustain . flat dull sound , Never again.
