Stomp on a Shin-ei New Vibra-chorus

The Behringer 69 Vibe captures the Doppler-esque, phase-shifty textures of a late-’60s vibra-chorus pedal. You know, that sound — the throbbing, hypnotic pulse framed by a swirling lo-fi sweep immortalized by countless guitar legends, such as Jimi Hendrix, Robin Trower, and David Gilmour. This all-analog stompbox faithfully re-creates the original unit’s sound and features, equipping you with footswitchable Chorus and Vibrato modes, an onboard Speed knob, and a Foot Control input for an external expression pedal. We’ve really had a blast with the 69 Vibe here at Sweetwater; one of our favorite use cases was to plant this pedal between a smiley-face fuzz and an overdriven British stack. The result is pure Hendrix-ian “Machine Gun” mayhem. The 69 Vibe boasts true-bypass switching, as well as robust housing with eye-grabbing vintage styling. Every player with a penchant for vintage-tinged tones needs a vibra-chorus effect in their arsenal, and the Behringer 69 Vibe delivers that mind-bending warble with absolute certitude.

Behringer 69 Vibe Features:

  • Captures the Doppler-esque, phase-shifty textures of a late-‘60s vibra-chorus pedal
  • Faithfully replicates the effect popularized by Jimi Hendrix, Robin Trower, and David Gilmour
  • Footswitchable Chorus and Vibrato modes
  • Onboard Speed knob provides control without a footpedal
  • Foot Control input enables control via an external expression pedal
  • True-bypass switching preserves tone when the pedal isn’t active
  • Robust housing with eye-grabbing vintage styling

Reviews

Great Pedal
Right out of the box, I barely adjusted the settings on the volume, intensity and speed on the chorus mode and voila!, I had the sound for Rush 2112 Soliloquy. I was playing the intro by memory and I went to a guitar lesson and the instructor was using reverb, a phaser and delay. I achieved the sound by just using this one pedal. I have Reverb and presence set on my Hot Rod Deville. Can't wait to explore more with this pedal!
Combine with overdrive
Up until I paired the 69 Vibe with an overdrive it was on the verge of returning to Sweetwater. This is not your average chorus type pedal, this one has a definite "thing" it does. Put the Vibe before an overdrive in slow chorus setting, not too much, and wow, teleport back to the 60's, thick, rich and colorful. This won't replace your chorus pedal, it's another whole different kind of sound that happens to use the word chorus on the box.

Worth it, I'm keeping it for the unique character this pedal can create. Good Music To You!

My David Gilmour Pedalboard is complete
Been waiting a long time but it's finally here and I couldn't be happier.

This was the very last pedal I needed for my David Gilmour board and now whenever I play Dark Side of the Moon it sounds authentic. No, Dave did not use a Phase 90 on the album. He used a Uni-Vibe.

Of course this pedal doesn't just work for Gilmour and Pink Floyd, it also works for Jimi Hendrix, Robin Trower, Todd Rundren and Pearl Jam.

Behringer has been hitting home runs these last 5+ years. They've already done an amazing job with synths, so seeing them put the same amount of effort and energy into resurrecting these old iconic pedals is absolutely amazing.

Plus, I really like that all the dials go to eleven. I know it wasn't necessary but it's a more than welcome addition.

One last note, the Univibe circuit originated from an effects unit called "the Psychedelic Machine" it was created by Japanese company called Honey aside from the Univibe there was also a Fuzz Circuit which would become its own standalone pedal, the Univox SuperFuzz. Oh, if only Behringer could make a clone of that one too…

In conclusion you want a good Univibe pedal that sounds authentic and affordable, then look no further than the Behringer '69 Vibe.
Excellent Univibe
This is a fantastic Univibe, not only is this by far the least expensive Univibe on the market, it sounds incredible.

It has a very, very wide range, if you want a certain Uni sound, this will do it.

The "classic" hendrix set up of fuzz into the Univibe was not the best sounding. I found it to have excessive modulation and made this very unpleasant warbling effect, reversing the order, Uni then fuzz, was the best sounding.

Not a huge vibrato guy when playing clean tones but it did well. The chorus on clean was wonderful once you dialed the intensity and speed back,it's the classic chorus sound, very similar the old boss chorus pedals and the MXR Analog Chorus.

This arrived a few hours ago, I can't attest to it's longevity but it's a heavy metal enclosure and feels very well constructed, nothing is loose, ill fitting or shoddy, I highly recommend this pedal. You're getting 2 awesome pedals for less that the average stompbox.
Great Pedal by Behringer!!
I was a little skeptical of this pedals quality at such an amazing price... until I watched some review videos. I love the Trower ,Gilmore, Hendrix sound so I really wanted a Uni-Vibe type pedal and I am glad I bought this one! It sounds fantastic and is built better than expected. Anyone wanting a vibe pedal should not hesitate to get this one, you won't regret it!!
