Taylor’s Gorgeous 314ce with V-Class Bracing

The Taylor 314ce Studio is a solid Grand Auditorium with excellent top-end response and a natural, direct tone. The 314ce Studio’s sapele back and sides have a warm, full body with a bell-like sparkle and broad dynamic range thanks to a torrefied Sitka spruce top. You also get Taylor’s revolutionary V-Class bracing, which boosts volume evenly across the tonal spectrum, increases sustain, and improves the natural intonation of the instrument by creating a more synergistic response from the soundboard. The 314ce Studio’s ES2 electronics provide convenient and natural-sounding amplification for the stage and studio with discrete Tone, Volume, and Phase controls to help you shape your sound. And with looks this good, you’ll be turning heads everywhere you play!

V-Class bracing: a sonic revelation

With Taylor’s V-Class bracing, an acoustic guitar top can be both stiff and flexible — for more volume and sustain. V-Class bracing provides stiffness parallel to the strings for more rigidity, and hence, sustain. Flexibility on either side generates the air movement necessary for robust projection. It’s the best of both worlds. This groundbreaking innovation not only produces notes that are louder and with longer sustain, but are also more in tune with each other. This fosters a more harmonious relationship between the notes you play, helping chords to ring out in cohesive splendor.

Grand Auditorium body style delivers a full sound and sleek look

Acoustic players all over the world — including many here at Sweetwater — reach for Taylor Grand Auditorium guitars like the 314ce Studio. Why, exactly? Because this guitar’s comfortable narrow waist, rich full range of sounds, sharp definition, and sleek look make it an excellent intermediate option for fingerpickers and singer/songwriters who depend on a good-sounding, good-playing instrument night after night. Take the 314ce Studio into the studio for session work, and this Grand Auditorium tracks with equal appeal!

Sitka spruce and sapele balance warmth and sparkle

This 314ce Studio’s time-proven torrefied Sitka spruce top gives you good projection with just the right amount of sparkle. This acoustic-electric guitar’s sapele back and sides also give it a warm and mellow quality, similar to that of mahogany, for a full and balanced tone. Not to mention, the organic duet of both woods looks fantastic anywhere you play, from the studio to the stage to the comfort of your own home.

Taylor ES2 electronics for a natural and dynamic amplified sound

Artists who play plugged in will appreciate the Taylor 314ce Studio’s natural-sounding Expression System 2 (ES2) electronics. This system features a 3-section proprietary pickup located behind the guitar’s saddle for clear and accurate sound reproduction. A master Volume control and a pair of Tone controls let you tweak your sound and output from the stage, while a discrete Phase switch provides vital onboard feedback suppression.

Taylor 314ce Studio Features:

  • Torrefied Sitka spruce/sapele pairing balances warmth and sparkle
  • Grand Auditorium body style delivers exceptional high-end response
  • V-Class bracing boosts volume evenly across the tonal spectrum, increasing sustain and improving intonation
  • Venetian cutaway gives access to higher frets
  • Ebony fingerboard is fast and articulate
  • Dot inlays impart a sophisticated look
  • ES2 electronics provide natural sound reproduction and a full dynamic response
  • Balanced output for noise-free amplification

Reviews

Perfect acoustic sound!
Beautiful guitar, sounds amazing! Don't fret if your string action is a bit high. Acoustics need setups too. I would rather it be too hight than too low. Much easier to fix! The only bad review I have seen on these guitars was related to string action and that is adjustable, even on an acoustic! This is the first acoustic I have bought in a very long time. I tried out several of the leading brands in this price range and half of them sounded and felt like toys. Best I can tell, Taylor is always going to be your best bang for your buck.
This guitar Rocks!!!
I honestly can't believe how good this guitar sounds. Right out of the box the action on the guitar was perfect. The bass is nice and deep and the highs sparkle.. the mids are where this guitar shines but with that being said nothing is taken from the bass or treble... the Grand Auditorium body shape is officially my new favorite as well... perfect all around guitar weather you play fingerstyle or weather you are a strummer... the sustain is unbelievably good.... im in love with my new 314ce studio!!!
