A Silver Jubilee in a Low-watt Combo

This 20-watt 2525C Mini Silver Jubilee Combo gives you everything you love about Marshall's highly coveted 2-channel, 100-watt combo in a smaller and more volume-friendly unit. The 2525C has all the tone and look of the original, including high- and low-output switching for 5- and 20-watt performance, offering you the sound of a Marshall at full roar, but at studio and club levels. The Marshall 20-watt 2525C Silver Jubilee combo also gives you even lower noise performance and improved reliability over the 1980s originals.

Marshall 20-watt 2525C Mini Silver Jubilee Amplifier Combo at a Glance:
  • Classic lineage
  • Perfect power
  • Straightforward design
Classic lineage

The original Marshall Silver Jubilee is one of the most sought-after tube amplifiers in all of rock history. Their aggressive sound was widely used in the '80s and early '90s by hard rock players of all types. Marshall's reissue started with that iconic design and upgraded it. And the 2525C Mini Silver Jubilee takes that one step further by putting all of that sound into a more compact combo amp with a usable 20 watts of tube power.

Perfect power

If you're a gigging guitarist, you know that keeping the stage volume down is becoming an absolute necessity. While older 100-watt amps sound amazing, they often require a lot of stage real estate and sound their best when you're pushing the volume. The Marshall 2525C solves this problem by putting the Silver Jubilee sound into a 1 x 12" combo that pushes 20 watts of all-tube power, the perfect amount of power for headroom and grind on modern stages. And if you need even quieter performance, you can switch the amp to 5-watt mode.

Straightforward design

Marshall amplifiers are historically known for their ease of getting a great tone. Though Marshall has some powerful designs with a lot of tonal options, amp designs like the original Plexi, the JCM 800s, and the Silver Jubilees have straightforward panels that let you turn on, turn up, and play. You still get a great effects loop and the low-power switch. But the panel is easy to navigate, and it will get your tone dialed in quick and easy.

Marshall 20-watt 2525C Mini Silver Jubilee Amplifier Combo Features:
  • 1 x 12" combo version of Marshall's popular Silver Jubilee amp heads
  • Same tone as the iconic '87 Jubilees
  • 20 watts is great for performance volumes
  • Switch to 5 watts for rehearsals and recording
  • 1 x 12" Celestion G12M Greenback speaker
  • DI output
  • Effects loop
The Marshall 2525C Mini is a Silver Jubilee that's perfect for the gigging guitarist.

Reviews

Marshall ROAR!
It's all Marshall !
Sounds like a hot rod JCM 800 on the lead channel. You really don't need an overdrive to play solos. But to get everything matched up volume wise, I found it better to dial the gain back and add an SD1 for solo time.

Some nice crunch and clean tones on the first channel.
Had a easy time dialing it in , even after reading all the reviews saying how hard it was.
For a little combo you can feel the power as much as hear it.
I'm happy!
Music background: 30+ years
Update from my previous
Addendum to my previous review. I stated "I'm not sure how they're doing 50 watts in this model" and the answer is they're not. My older model called it a 25/50 (now renamed 5/20) and I thought for sure it doesn't sound like 50 watts and as my previous review states - that's not an issue. That's all, just a clarification. Read my udder review and then go buy one now.
Music background: I know a thing or two because I've seen, etc
Marshall’s best?
Who needs an amp anymore with all these modeling options? I'm not entering that argument. The software options for amp sounds are phenomenal period.
Amps. So many products. So many opinions. Many are too lazy to read into any of them! So many players saying I've been playing for 50 years and tried every amp (I have been and have tried). Therefore I stand strong with my personal experience and opinions and avoid Kool-Aid. I tend to go and look at the negative reviews and see what problems people had. You can weed out the obvious remarks of ignorance and look at things like reliability, not whether FedEx delivered it on time or I tried this product for 40 minutes and decided it wasn't for me.
My minor cons:
Yes, I do wish the foot switch had a little red light. I'm going to make one.
I'm not sure how they're doing 50 Watts of power with this one. It's not 50 W like I remember it. I don't know if power rating is root mean square Class A anymore. Does not matter, I just put a 57 in front. I don't play loud enough to clip the power tubes and I've no problem with stage levels in the small venues.
Therefore, this amp is the one for me from a live performing standpoint.
Detail:
The red channel is the most aggressive hopped up Marshall sound (or any) I've ever heard. It is completely unique to this amp and I've never heard it anywhere else - my own personal and experiential fact. It cleans up well with dynamic and makes anything absolutely roar. I like and have so many different guitars but my Les Paul Junior with P90 is just astoundingly dripping with attitude. The Strats, Teles and hollow bodies are all better through this amp. I don't know what else to say, but attitude.
Now switch channels, and have the clip knob pulled and it's pretty much JCM 800 territory (I'm not using this one much). Push in the clip and this clean sound is so usable and good and pedal pretty.
The squat little enclosure is closed back and gives you good thump, economic footprint, and no danger of slipped discs.
Playing in so many environments this sound has never failed to satisfy me. That has never happened to me with any other amp and my anecdotes just might convince you to go get one.
Music background: Just read the review silly
Little Jubilee
Opened up the box and checked the fit and fit-up of it. It's general appearance is very nice. Knobs feel good. I've played it for a few hours now, and I'm very happy. I've run a strat and a Les Paul through it. The clean channel is outstanding with the strat and the middle position of the Paul. The lead channel is awesome with humbuckers. Really awesome. Neck pickup is like lava, and the bridge pickup compresses in a very pleasing way. Less chainsaw grind than my 70s JMP master volume, but richer sounding. There is a very lovely forwardness to the midrange that keeps the whole spectrum of freqs coming out focused. Absolutely nails the Slash sound with my Paul. You can use the lead master to match or mismatch the volume between clean and lead. Once again the cleans are friggin awesome. I think I like them as much or more than my deluxe reverb. Get one...best little amp I ever played.
Nice Amp
I have plenty number of high end amplifiers not saying one brand is better than the other. I like the looks of this amp and the green back speaker. On my other amps my Eric Clapton guitar always sounded muffled, with this amp the notes ring out nice and clear, very happy with this amp. It is a keeper.
Music background: Home player, ocasionally play with friends.

We've played them all, from vintage JTM45s and the ultra-cool Plexi reissue to modern handmade masterpieces such as the JVM410. There isn't a model among them we can't recommend with total confidence, and that includes their more affordable models too, like MG, DSL, and Code series amps. Thanks to our tight relationship with Marshall, Sweetwater's always on the cutting edge of their latest designs, custom models, and limited-edition gems. If you want iconic tone from across the pond, you want Marshall, and your Sweetwater Sales Engineer will help you find the perfect one.
