Reviews

Great product with lots of flexibility
As have been all of my previous purchases with Sweetwater Sound, this product is no exception. It works well and has great flexibility in shaping and curtailing any sound reproduction issue(s) and frequency necessities for my studio. Thank you again for your many years of great service, support and great products.

dbx 231s
I purchased two of these, one for my mains, and one for the monitors. I use them to flatten the curve for FOH and monitors.
My band does our own sound from the stage, using an analog mixer and the 231s are easy to use w/ no menus to scroll through. they meet our needs. My sales engineer, Michael Ramey, was very useful making recommendations to fulfill my needs.
What I Needed
For years I've been mixing my music in a room that's not ideal. I decided to give this a shot at tempering certain frequencies that were confusing my ears and mixes. Absolutely perfect. A true necessity. Coupled with some new monitors, my mixes are finally translating to other systems much easier.
The guy who says this is useless...
This is a decent eq.... I'm shaking my head and laughing at the irony that someone from a church is casting blame on the manufacturer for them not knowing how to use an EQ; There are no instructions needed here, this is as simple as a graphic eq gets; If you can handle pushing sliders up and down, and you know the basics like line level vs mic level vs speaker level (boom,) you're good.

It's odd to me that the guy said it was useless (and didn't say why,) then commented on the fact that there were no instructions.... a person not knowing how to use a basic audio tool doesn't make IT useless.

Anyhow, this is a nice, reasonably-priced EQ. Not Neve quality, but not Neve price either.
