Definitive British Preamp/EQ

Neve 80 series consoles defined the sound of 1970s rock 'n' roll. The company's legendary 1073 preamp and EQ modules wrote the book on characterful mic preamplification and punchy equalization. Done up in classic RAF blue-gray livery, the BAE 1073 Rackmount nails the authentic sound of the vintage modules, using the same handwired, transformer-coupled Class A design and original-spec components like Carnhill St. Ives transformers, Elma switches, and Canford wire. With 80dB of gain on tap, the 1073 lets you capture subdued sources with your favorite ribbon mic. Cranking preamp gain enhances your tracks with tasty vintage-style coloration. A highpass filter lets you roll off mud, rumble, and other low-frequency content that can mar an otherwise perfect take. And the 1073's renowned 3-band EQ section can enhance anything. The BAE 1073. Take it from Sweetwater: this is the stuff of legend.

Reviews

The business..
Ask any of the top engineers alive today. This unit is the business. It took me 5 years to get the b@lls to spend this kind of cash on one input channel, but man was it worth it. These things just sound correct. That is the only way I can describe them. Pair this up with a La2a, 1176, or Tube tech and you are there my friends, absolutely magical.

Good stuff
This is better than any other Neve wannabe's. The transformers are different from the actual one though (Carnhill vs Marinair). This sounds better than the AMS.
