Small Format Monitors for the Studio and On the Go

Created with home recordists, podcasters, and traveling engineers in mind, the JBL One Series 104 reference monitors deliver the crisp, natural sound JBL is known for in a small form factor perfect for desktop workstations and portable monitoring. The One Series 104 monitors feature a neutral and detailed sonic profile derived from an innovative coaxial driver design and contoured low-frequency port, and they accurately reproduce frequencies from 60Hz to 20kHz — fantastic performance from monitors this size! With integrated 60-watt Class D amplification, the One Series 104s can put out some serious volume, up to 104dB Maximum Peak SPL without distortion. So, you can hear how your mixes perform at high playback volume without misleading coloration — a quality engineers at Sweetwater appreciate. Additionally, the One Series 104s are Bluetooth 5.0 compatible, which is excellent for streaming reference mixes during tracking and mixing.

Reviews

Four stars because there is no 3 1/2.
First let me say I'm a fan of JBL. It's mostly why I took a chance on a purchase without hearing them first. I watched YouTube videos for reviews but that audio cannot be used legitimately for a reference.
However these monitors excel at being "ok". Not bad. Not great. Just ok. I don't think they will disappoint you, in this price range, but they don't have a "wow factor" either.
Features are good for the money. Bluetooth however also is lacking. Connects fine. Distance is good but the big bummer is using a midi keyboard the latency was unusable. (iPad Pro 2nd gen 12inch)
For listening back/mixing they are fine. For overdubs, nope. Basically these are a "get what you pay for" item.
PS-they look and feel great!

Better than I hoped. Good sound, great connections.
Strong, clear sound. Super useful connectivity. I love being able to select multiple inputs. I can plug in an aux cable or connect my phone over Bluetooth, and still play my guitar through these from my interface. It's super useful.

My one gripe is the delay in the Bluetooth connection. Any connection over Bluetooth is delayed about 3-5 seconds. All the other connections are played instantaneously. It just means you can't use a Bluetooth connection for mixing, or for video sound. All the other connections work great, though, and have no detectable delay or other issues.

Great Monitors!
I bought two pairs of these for two separate dorm rooms, as out kids had all-in-one systems before. With an Audio Technica turntable hooked into them, I was told by both kids that they could hear things from their records that they'd never heard before. Excellent, clear sound, not muddy at all - these are terrific for the price!

Solid In Between Speakers
I purchased these JBL 1 Series speakers for my work/gaming computer after I purchased a dedicated mixing computer and moved my reference monitors & music production over to it. These speakers do a wonderful job at going between casual tasks (gaming, YouTube, work calls, etc.) and semi-critical music listening.

Embarrassingly enough, I actually purchased these because I thought they looked cool and I was no longer worried about sheer sound quality in the new workspace, but I've been pleasantly surprised at how nice they sound. They also have a very wide variety of input options. I am docking them one star because JBL really pushes these as "reference monitors" in their marketing and I don't think these quite compete with true studio reference monitors. But I wouldn't mind mixing with them in a pinch.
Love JBL
Ok, I knew when I bought these if they didn't work for video editing then I could use them otherwise for music listening. I agree with one reviewer about loudness. You can have the volume far right and even the volume of your audio box all the way up; just don't expect to rock your station. Perhaps this was to save the speakers but a couple more bumps of volume would have been nice. The over all sound is very smooth and balanced. I didn't buy these for the Bluetooth feature so I can't comment. They look nice (white) and they sound good but just mid on the volume. So I placed them right in front of me for video editing for my YouTube channel
