Delivers Natural, Miked-up Acoustic Guitar Tone

Acoustic-electric guitars often deliver an unnatural sound. It's almost like you're listening inside of the guitar instead of in front of it. With a voicing that's reminiscent of a miked-up acoustic guitar, the Mojo Tone Quiet Coil NC-1 eliminates that artificial, electric guitar-like quality. This low-noise soundhole pickup exhibits outstanding string-to-string balance with zero adjustment, offers excellent feedback resistance, and its easy-to-access volume control safeguards against accidental level changes. The Quiet Coil NC-1's compact, low-profile design stays out of the way of your picking hand, while natural cork padding protects your guitar's finish. You also get flexible, shielded low-capacitance cabling, a hard-wearing stereo Switchcraft end pin jack, bright battery indicator LEDs, and up to 500 hours of battery life. Here at Sweetwater, we demand uncompromising acoustic guitar tone, and Mojo Tone's Quiet Coil NC-1 leaves us grinning ear to ear.

Mojo Tone Quiet Coil NC-1 Acoustic Soundhole Pickup Features:

  • Easy-to-access volume control safeguards against accidental level changes

Reviews

My favourite acoustic pickup
I love this pickup, they just got it so right. I plug directly into mixers these days no preamp just one lead and it sounds great. Nice and light, I have a Guild M40 and its a very light small bodied guitar, I tried a bunch of other systems specifically wanting to not lose that and this is the best I've found weight versus sound quality. Also fit the small sound hole no problem. Very easy fit. Also has quite good percussive qualities which I haven't seen mentioned. All in all a fantastic pickup. Highly recommended.

**Video link around 20:22 has the pickup direct into a small Yamaha mixer and RCF speaker I just bought.. recorded on a GoPro so not amazing audio but should give some idea of its capabilities.

Great pickup
I purchased the Mojo Tone Quiet Coil NC-1 to use in two of my acoustics; an Ibanez AC240 OPN and an Alvarez AD710. It isn't the cheapest pickup out there, but isn't the most expensive either. I picked mine up when they were on sale for $ and couldn't be happier. The pickup sounds great, especially in my all mahogany Ibanez. I run it through a TC Helicon V60 Harmony acoustic amp (also purchased from Sweetwater) and the sound is warm and full-bodied. I have two other acoustics with Journey Tek EP001K's in them (similar to a K&K Pure Mini) and the difference in overall sound quality is unmistakeable. This is partly due to the fact that the Quietcoil is a powered pickup, whereas the EP001K's are passive. I also like the fact that the Quietcoil has a volume control (right next to the CR2032 battery slot) and allows me to fine tune the sound. If they go on sale again, I would consider buying another one and having them permanently installed in both the Ibanez and the Alvarez.

Great Pickup
Installed on a 2021 Martin D-28, and it sounds fantastic. Great dynamic range and balance.
Not sure how it could be better
Mine moves easily between a Martin D18 and a Gibson J45 with equally great results. I just clip it to my strap and go. It's a fantastic sound and miles better than the piezo under-saddle sounds I've gotten. Very recommended.
Based on how good this one is I'll likely buy an NC2.

Very Natural Sounding
This pickup sounds very natural, is very easy to install, and the volume knob is relatively easy to access. I highly recommend it.
Music background: Non-professional, regularly gigging musician
