Serious Arena-rock Tones

Seymour Duncan Saturday Night Special humbuckers nail the guitar sound that filled arenas in the late 1970s, but with a tighter, more modern low end. These classic-voiced, moderate-output pickups employ Alnico IV magnets to produce warm cleans and articulate overdriven tones that lend themselves nicely to crunchy riffs and stinging leads. Saturday Night Specials come standard with 4-conductor wiring, maple spacers, and short mounting legs. When we're chasing arena-rock tones, the guitarists here at Sweetwater turn to Seymour Duncan Saturday Night Special humbuckers.

Reviews

The sound in my head
I recently changed out my Gibson 490s for these Saturday night special pickups and I was so NOT disappointed!! Exactly what I was looking for. The bridge pickup has Great articulation and has that midrange bark I've been searching for. The output is more than my Gibsons were and it cleans up nicely with the turn of my volume knob. The neck pickup is Phat and juicy. Warm and articulate as well. The middle position is killer for cleans and reminds me of Slash's clean tone. If you want a pickup that checks all these boxes and isn't quite as hot as a ceramic pickup then these are your jewel. I wish I had tried these long ago.

Fantastic pickups!
I had a Gibson SG Modern and didn't care for the stock pickups at all, especially when using the coil split. I had a set of these Saturday Night Specials (with nickel covers) installed, and they sound amazing in humbucker and single coil mode. I ended up selling the guitar, but I sure miss these pickups. I'll have to get a set for another guitar. They really are some of the best Seymour Duncan pickups I've tried, and probably are my second favorite after Seth Lovers. I don't think you'll be disappointed!
Saturday night specials
If you want a killer sound that can be aggressive but clean up nicely this is your ticket. You can also get the late 70's vibe as well. I've put these in multiple guitars now and haven't been disappointed.

Pickups are second to Sweetwater
I bought these for a Jackson I was modding. The first set had a bad bridge pickup. Sounded really thin. Called Sweetwater, they made it right, very quickly. Got the new ones in, guitar sounds amazing.
