Compact Audio Interface with DSP and Built-in Streaming Mixer

The PreSonus Revelator io44 makes livestreaming and recording more manageable than ever. Thanks to its XMAX-L preamp and premium circuitry, this compact USB-C audio interface offers superb sound. Revelator comes with the same onboard DSP as PreSonus’ well-loved Studio Live III Series mixer. You get access to eight expertly-designed effects presets and can edit them all to find your perfect sound. In addition to the XLR/TRS input, the interface also includes a headset input, 3.5mm line input, USB connectivity, and analog main outputs. Livestreamers around Sweetwater appreciate how well the output limiter prevents clipping when going live. Your purchase of Revelator io44 includes Studio One Artist DAW software and PreSonus’ Studio Magic plug-in bundle to get you started on the right foot. Streamers of all stripes will love using the PreSonus Revelator io44 for its accessibility, great sound, and small form factor.

Your livestreaming companion

Going live on Facebook Gaming, Twitch, YouTube Gaming, or any other platform requires the right equipment. The Revelator io44 comes with two stereo loopback channels, so you can stream audio from multiple sources at once. It also has an onboard streaming mixer that blends audio from three different applications and aligns them perfectly for your stream. The mixer is controlled through PreSonus’ UC Surface app for iPad, Microsoft, and Android devices. From your mobile device, you get total control over the mixer, DSP effects, and more — all without having to open up new windows on your computer.

Customize your sound

Onboard DSP (Digital Signal Processing) is just another reason why Revelator io44 is an awesome audio interface for streamers. You get eight Fat Channel presets for vocals, guitar, broadcasting, and more right out of the box. You can apply the processing to the Mic/instrument channel, as well as the headset input. What’s more, each preset is completely adjustable, opening the door to custom user presets that you can share with your friends. Whether you use compression and EQ to add a subtle studio polish to your vocals or take advantage of outlandish effects, Revelator io44 will help you achieve the sound in your head.

Outstanding software package included

With Revelator io44, you’re getting much more than a remarkable piece of hardware. Your purchase includes a collection of terrific software, including Studio One Artist, Abelton Live Lite, and the Studio Magic plug-in suite. This extensive collection of popular plug-ins includes emulations of classic studio gear from legendary manufacturers, adding hundreds of dollars in extra value. Punch up your mix bus with the Brainworx bx_opto compressor, add ambient reverb with Lexicon MPX-i Reverb, fire up transients with SPL’s Attacker Plus, and much more. And since these plug-ins are available in AAX, VST, and AU formats, they’re compatible with any DAW.

Reviews

Fantastic for PC and good for Android
The Presonus Revelator io44 has DIRECT MONITORING. I have it plugged into a usb power supply with a stereo breakout cable going into line in and a mic into the xlr input, no need for a usb device to use it for monitoring and simple mixing with channel strip presets. Headphones and speaker are connected. You can control their volume independently, the direct monitor / usb volume mix, the Line in has a +/- 12db volume control, the xlr input goes close to 60db gain with 48v phantom power and 80hz hpf that can be toggled. Its noise-free even with the line splitter in stand-alone.

It works wonderfully with PC! I have it working with spotify, ableton, and OBS video studio all at the same time!! You can run 3 different mixes simultaneously and listen to any one of them, sending others to different windows apps. I was surprised that Ableton and OBS would let me record audio simultaneously from it without conflict.

It also works well on Android. You cant control the mix output, but it does let you manually control the input gain/trim for each channel and it plays all 4 channels into camera apps.. which is surprising. The UC Control android app isnt for standalone android use, but for giving separate wifi control of a PC connected to the unit - this is a silly design since its so small its more likely to be used with a portable android device than a complicated home setup. I am keeping this one, great value and very portable.
Perfectly capable little guy
I love the form factor and the ease of use. Right out of the box, connected to the laptop, and BOOM... I'm recording and monitoring. Perfect mobile I/O solution, especially since I already use PreSonus Studio One as my DAW, own a PreSonus Quantum 2626 for the studio, and use Universal Control to manage. This is a great ecosystem to work in. Let's hear it for PreSonus and Sweetwater!

Dang
You may wonder, what is the difference between this and the io24?
This has a line in - headphone/headset combo jack, and is more portable and bus powered on smaller devices (the io24 may be as well on smaller devices?)

The io24 has midi connections, 2 XLR, and does NOT have the line in or headset combo jacks.

Pretty solid differences that give you a $ cheaper, or more expensive option that makes sense.

I have ZERO qualms with the io44 as it is an exceptional device for the money, AND fits in a phone clamp style holder as I have mine rigged onto a mic stand with phone clamp.

Hard to beat this versatile little device for the money

Perfect for dawless needs
I use this "standalone". No computer.
I imported custom channel strip presets.
The dsp sounds stellar for any $ mobile studio interface in 2022.
Havnt had problems yet. But it is pretty early (hence the 4/5 stars).
Please be aware that the Revelator mic series do NOT work standalone. However the io44 and io24 DO work w/o a computer.

I have set it aside
Probaly user error, but I have not yet been able to get it to work. At first the device seemed to work while I was learning. I decided to reinstall as practice and learning experience. So I removed the device and uninstalled Universal Control and then re-installed everything and the device together with software; but now it does not work (condenser microphone BM-800, spearkers are audio-in on me Casio WK-6600, game headphones with mic). Installed Studio One Artist and the device seemed to show up in Studio One but did not connect through Universal Control. No tracks connected in Universl Control. Playback and so forth does not go through Universal Control. I have fussed with it several timens and now have decided to set it aside for awhile. Troubleshooting takes too much effort. I will re-visit, but for now the io44 is in storage. My system works without the io44. The included Studio One seems to be pretty good though.

Sweetwater and PreSonus go way back, and that makes a lot of sense. Like Sweetwater, PreSonus is largely staffed by active musicians, songwriters, live sound techs, and engineers, and like Sweetwater, their culture shows up in everything they do. Early on, PreSonus broke ground by offering super-affordable audio interfaces that brought quality recording to home studio engineers everywhere. In the following years, we've been with them as they introduced a powerful, artist-friendly DAW, groundbreaking digital mixers, and more - all products we at Sweetwater use ourselves. One thing that's never changed, even as PreSonus has branched out into new territory, is that they've always done everything possible to provide you with the best value, and we're proud to stand by their products.
